Your right the old toasted sesame does have a tendency to over power a bait..

Got to admit I'd be substituting that for a nut oil. Not sure on roasted sesame though, you'd be smelling of it for a week afterwards
You won't go wrong using CC recipe, probably well tried and tested and a nice place to start.

'Add 10ml of Salmon oil to help rolling and flavour.'

Sesame oil seed sounds nice tho. I use that in my cooking a lot.

Why the Salmon oil? Would it not be better with something like Hemp or roasted sesame seed oil. Definitely complement it better.

Ok, so im probably going to try the Carp Company recipe as a test and go from there.

5 Eggs
5ml Mixed Nut EPA
5ml Peanut EPA
10ml Tiger Nut Extract
Base Mix - 500g
10ml of Salmon oil

If this turns ok i'll start modifyng but this really is just a test run to start with.

Quite right most nut mixes are a mixture of 20-40% nut meals, tiger nut and peanut being the most popular. Some use peanut protein which is more soluble than just peanut meal. Then some bird seed, semo and/or soya and something soluble like a basic milk powder. A few other tweaks like whey gel or blood plasma and you have a basic nut mix.

I like the fact Target Baits nutmilk mix has added yeast. I have a very soluble yeast product in my nut mix with hydrolised Whey instead of the basic milk powder. I also use vanilla meal from CC Moore as I am convinced carp love it and have been using it for well over 15 years now.

You can make a nut mix very high in nut meals but they are not really very digestible so I feel a nut base fortified with other digestible ings is a better all-round bait. Also some nuts are very high in oil and can go rancid quite quick so keep these types low in the mix

It's all good fun. I convinced the Mrs she needed to try all the nut butters, Almond, Brazil etc, needless to say a bit of each found it's way into a jar and was let down with some PG, it was pretty good tbh. I was trying to emulate CC Moores Roasted Nut compound which smells divine, but it's pricey, and I didn't find the AA Baits comparable, though good. I still remain convinced there's a flavour in the CCM stuff, Vanilla maybe, who knows, I just got hints of it from vanilla meal.
