I use a greys surface rod which is a lovely rod which would probably suit you well,
My mate uses a nice daiwa power mesh for both barbel and surface fishing as well which again is a lovely rod although I haven't used it.

I’m after a rod that I can use for floater fishing that I can also use as a float rod with a centrepin for carp up to around 30lb. I’m thinking around 2lb tc and preferably a cork handle. Possibly some sort of Barbel rod may suffice as I’d probably use it a bit for that also.
Happy to spend up to around £200 for the right rod.

Cheers
