In reply to Post #12 Yeh, used to be cash at the door. Like you say, not much use if you want to move swims tho.

In reply to Post #10 Yeah them and a few are on this go catch app which makes me choose a swim before I go. But weird tbh I want to find or move onto fish not just be stuck in a swim because that's what the app gave me 😕.
My plan for this week is all days out on club waters avoiding any that are still spawning or just reopened 👍

In reply to Post #9 Thanks, used to fish there years ago - never got any sleep because of the M27 road noise, so not for me any more

Not been to Willow Park since before Covid but was always a nice place and you never hear anything bad said about it. Traffic noise from one bank but really cant fault the place otherwise.

In reply to Post #5 I fished orchid a few years ago, didn't inspire me to go back, all felt a bit too regimented for me.

Thanks that sounds decent, I'll check it out 👍.
Most of the local club waters are spawning now too, so if I don't go camping there is a lot of me tempted to fish the rivers for anything that will take a maggot next week

Monday to Thursday I would go Bluebells. Rated best day ticket complex in the country.
It has 5 lakes, toilet with showers. On site tackle shop and a little take away hut. Mallard would be your best bet. 20 acre, Depths of 4-14ft and stock of around 1400 carp including multiple 40s and 30s.
My favourite lake is Sandmartin. 6 acre between 350-500 carp. Depths up to 23ft. Lake record is a common called Tilly been out at 56lbs. Lake record mirror CL Cluster been out at high 40s. Unbelievable looking fish at that place.
Just don't go anywhere near it on a weekend

In reply to Post #4 Farlows is noisy but has some cracking looking fish and seems to be fishing well at the moment.
What about Orchid in Oxford?

Thanks, yeah I hoped they would be done by now when I booked the time off 😬

In reply to Post #1 Farlows is noisier than anywhere else I have fished.
I think you’re gonna be seeing more places closing with spawning over the next week or so.

In reply to Post #1 i've not fished them all but
Willow - only bookable via Go Catch app now so you'll need to check availability there. The noise isn't too bad if you're on the Bungalows side of the lake but if you fish the end closest to the road, it is noisy. That said, it does have some nice fish and decent numbers
Linear - B1 and B2 are fairly far away from the road. I've not fished St John's / Manor but i can imagine those 2 and Hardwick get noisy as that road the fishery is on, gets fairly busy from about 5am onwards
Farlows - not been for a long time but between the planes and the road, it gets a bit noisy but you get used to it i guess

My place has just started spawning and been closed for at least two weeks which clashes with a week I had off from 23rd June to fish Monday to Thursday.
So I need to find an alternative and a bit out of touch with day ticket options these days:.
Here's where I've thought of so far, any of these better than others?
Norton Disney - quite a long way from Portsmouth and which lake?
RH Monuments - quite a long way from Portsmouth
Linear - last time I fished here B1 and B2 were just opening so wouldn't know which lake to aim for
Farlows - not fished here for a long time, so can't remember how bad the road noise is?
Willow park - not fished here for a long time, so can't remember how bad the road noise is or what it's stock is these days
Lin Brook
I'd like the venue to have:
A decent toilet
Chance of a decent fish
More importantly, well stocked so I have a good chance of some fish
Not next to a main road
Be well run
Not too far from Portsmouth would be a bonus, but not vital
Any others worth looking at?
Thanks for any recommendations 👍
