In reply to Post #24 Well, I ordered a pair of the Trail trousers today to try, also a pair of the woodland trousers. Thought I'd try the Trail shorts too as the Helikons I wear aren't the cheapest and a NF Pique polo.....we'll see!

In reply to Post #22 Glad to hear you got sorted mate Do you mind me asking which ones you went for? I quite like the look of the ones that have the raised rear but lower front for the same reason as you.
There's some good prices on there at the mo and I'm tempted to order several pairs at once, so if they dont fit I can send them back in one go, rather than dribs and drabs.

In reply to Post #17 Just a big thank you for the heads-up on these trousers. Absolutely spot on. One of the biggest issues I've had finding some decent ones is that they are often high waisted which are useless if you have any sort of a belly as they just hang off your arse. These however are perfect with a low rise and semi elasticated waist. So good I bought another pair. Cheers. 👍

In reply to Post #18 I tried to buy a Percussion fleece iirc but it was too sculpted for my adonis like stature, so I got the Hogg OF one which would make a sack of spuds look good (and did)
Got to say I was a bit gutted it was very nice.

In reply to Post #14 I got a pair of those also. They're one of the most comfortable trousers I've worn. They remind of the the Karrimor Panthers with the stretchy fabric, which are also very comfy.
Having said that, I usually wear my Propper camo BDU's fishing. I'm old school.

In reply to Post #16 You wont go wrong with Jack Pyke or Deerhunter. I like my so called country or hunting stuff.
New Forrest clothing do some nice stuff too and not too pricey, what I like the most, a lot of it is reviewed by people who use it for a living, day in day out.

EDIT, I bought a Hoggs of Fyfe fleece from NF, love it, some good offers on fleeces too.

I bought a pair of those Aldi's were selling a little while back for about £12, I did not think they would be up to much, but they were that good I went out and bought a second pair and since then, I have never took them off even as my casual daily wear clobber even on a night down town etc
I don't know what they are made off, probably something similar to pertex, but the fabric is extremely light, you hardly know that you are wearing them, I thought they would be cold, but they proved me wrong, even in a cold wind, they are windproof and retain the warmth. And extremely fast drying, and even after a weeks wear, don't start to smell.
But, if I have any reservations about them, I doubt they would be "tough" enough to be pushing through briars and hedges etc without ripping them so for places I fish like that, I will stick to my German Army Moleskin trousers
