In reply to Post #7 Asian supermarket stores they got packs of them as I’m thinking of doing the same in my prebaiting this week for next week’s session

In reply to Post #6 Supermarket bulk packs, pre-cooked just soak. A little goes a long way, no need to fill it in whatsoever.

Bit of a side note but where would be the best place to source peanuts for carp, seen sacks in local animal feed shops not sure if that’s the right route to go.

In reply to Post #1 As Karlos said, if they look and smell fine, keep them, the buoyancy could come in handy. Good bait.

In reply to Post #1 I asked AI the question just out of curiosity myself.
I got this back:
"Floating peanuts aren't necessarily a bad sign—sometimes, they simply have air trapped inside or have absorbed enough liquid to alter their density. Skimming them off is a reasonable approach if you're concerned, but if they still look and smell fine, they may be perfectly usable.
If you're preparing them for bait, some anglers have reported similar experiences when soaking peanuts in sugary liquids. The sugars can cause fermentation, which might lead to some floating. As long as there's no foul smell or slimy texture, you should be good to go."

I've prepared a couple of Kg of peanuts.
Soaked in full fat coke for 24 hours, boiled for 40min and now left in liquid to get the sugars going. They look fine, smell fine and are nice and soft. Some have started to float.
Is it just a case of skimming these off or has something gone wrong?
Thanks in advance
