I used to chop and change but the last few years I've had a bait that I'm 100% confident in so I take it everywhere with me and don't fret about what is the so called going bait.

Make your own bait.

Both, put one or two rods on the going bait and a third on the new bait, feed the new bait on all three rods, 50/50, on the rods on the going bait. If a pattern of preference reveals itself, then switch to that bait. It will take a few sessions to arrive at a sensible answer. If you're just doing short sessions, and not a long term campaign then it makes sense to use the going bait.

Loose feed with the current 'thing', fish a different bait over the top, add a third option to the loose feed and try to wean them onto that.

You could Use it to start with and then start mixing it with your current bait.
