You could also try wrapping the pellet in shrink tube ala Crayfish style, I've done this before when nuisance species were present, worked well.

For my barbel fishing i wanted hookbaits so i just use ground pellet with an egg (can add whatever to it liquid wise) and make a few hookbaits by hand. My background feed is pellet.

I tried the DNA crayfish but not as good as my own.
Mainline do pellet boilies (for barbel) but i found them crumbly.

None that small really last too long, you'd need to go bigger. You can slow down the breakdown a bit by soaking them in oil. You'd be better drilling your own too as the pre drilled ones have a hole that's a bit too large really which speeds up the breakdown

Agree with all the others, the best bet is to use pellet/barrel shaped boilie hookbaits.

But if you're set on using pellets, what I used to do for fishing big pellets for catfish was to wrap them in some womens tights with biggish mesh. Tie it off with floss, and connect to a hair. The tights maintain the shape and form of the pellet, whilst allowing the oils and flavours to fully release from the pellet. Did it with 2 or 3 x 28mm pellets, but would work with any size really. Allowed them to stay out overnight, say for 12 hours. You could even put some foam in to make a pop-up pellet.

I'd use specialized barrel bottom baits. Gbp2 is a fishmeal, and I think tc2 bottoms are due soon.

Altech Coppens RED Krill but all depends on fish activity and water temperature. You can check CCmoore, they have "Pellet wafters" for hookbaits.

Try the dynamite ones, halibut, source etc. I have used them in the rivers, quite good. Soak the halibuts in oil, last a bit longer

And, the mainline barbel hookbaits are superb!!!

One problem with pellets, silver fish, they will just hit them and hit them till they are gone and for me that’s why they don’t last long pending the water

Enterprise do fake ones in 14 + 18 mm. I'd think that's your best bet.

Can anyone recommend any large (15-18mm) pre drilled pellet hookbaits which last longer than 8 hours on the hook?

Thanks!
