Depending on what I'm fishing over if it's clear and I want my line on the deck and as invisible as possible then it's a flouro leader

If it's weed I'm fishing over then it's braid

From an out and out fishing perspective I would prefer a thick mono but from casting braid every time. The knot with mono is far too large and you will get the odd crack off as it picks up on the coils during the cast which is not good!

I would use a heli set up with a short leader section to something like Korda sinking armour cord leader to your mainline. Love the armour cord, use it as a hookink tied to a lighter breaking strain on the rivers

Tapered mainline is worth a look. Use with a heli set up with a small hookbait to gain extra distance

Hi everyone.

Fishing somewhere new where range can be an advantage.

Iv'e used shockleaders for spombing/marker work but not
actual fishing.

Would I be better using braid or mono?

Any recommendations??

Thanks
