Is the Marsworth section still worthwhile? I know at least one venue that those carp visited, now itself a dying puddle. For shame.

I use to have a Luton book just for the GUC - its not even close to what it was in my youth. Otters and poachers have ruined it. Clubs dont like to admit this though.

In reply to Post #4 It certainly is! Had my 1st 20 out of the Aylesbury arm in 1995.
Me and two of my friends fished it almost every Saturday for years! Almost nothing except silvers and a few pike left from what I can see

In reply to Post #1 Nope. Very few carp left. Most of them Ottered. We did a bit of an unofficial audit of fish pictures against dead ones at the Aylesbury arm at tring, and the part just before Leighton.
We only found photos of 7 fish over about 15lb that haven't been found chewed up. All 3 30s had been killed too

In reply to Post #1 Probably not, the stock levels like a lot of open, public, places have more than likely be depleted, or grown legs.
I'm sure a local, or club member will confirm.

Is the GUC still as good as it used to be mainly between Tring and Leighton buzzard/three locks.
