I had the original Gardner Pop Up Bivvy. Open the bag and it sprung up and you pegged it down, taking down was allegedly just the opposite and it fitted back inside the bag. This was some time in the 80’s IIRC.
Anyway my therapist is really pleased with my progress and is happy that over 40 years later I’m just about getting over the trauma of that bivvy.

I have the Fox easy shelter+ and it is indeed one of the best pieces of kit I bought in the last 40 years. So easy to put up AND down. Weighs nothing yet stable. Ideal for overnighters which I nowadays only do. So kudos to Fox for this one.

In reply to Post #1 If you only fish days you don’t need all the bells and whistles how about the fox easy shelter or look solar sp or the new korum pop up or progress shelter I certainly wouldn’t bother with Nash one thousand pound for a bivvy absolutely ridiculous typical

In reply to Post #1 Why dont you look at the Nash Blockhouse? Literally no tension required just extend the poles till they clip in place. When packing away press the release button and they slide down.
Takes seconds to put up/down with very little effort. In return you get a decent quality bivvy with best headroom in class. They are rated as a 1 man but you can also fit 2 bedchairs in no problem as its very spacious. I wouldnt put it up in 50mph mind but they are great bivvys. I have a titan t1 pro, t2 pro and blockhouse and the blockhouse I basically use 95% of the time due to ease of use, small pack down size and reduced weight (just dont get the new one as that thing costs double it should and literally weighs double over the standard 20k fabric version).
EDIT. Missed the fishing days part. Blockhouse will be overkill for that lol

Hello
Has anyone had any experiences with popup bivvy especially Speedflex.
Thinking this might solve my problems with arthritis in my wrists as per my previous post.
Seem to struggle with poles under tension like on my jrc defender 1 man so rules out pram hood, tried a daiwa overnight plus but returned that as I struggled with that also. Only fish days so not looking for anything pricy.
