hi thanks,i purchased a samsung 10" 7se as for chartplotting it uses 3 different satellite prroviders(and was deemed to be most suitable for chartplotting, motorboat monthly i think).
already use it for relief shading in the channel alongside a 12"simrad plotter ,so am slightly familiar with its potential.
For the lakes i did purchase the Vehixillar sonar module which turns the tablet into a decent sized finder which i am really happy with but i saw that there was an option to split screen and use navionics ,hence asking for advice.i think inland waterways of France was £30 a year subscription.
do you use it alongside a finder/chartplotter combo on the boat in relief shading?
would be very interested in knowing if the barrages in Brittany are on there as 1st trip will be around the north west, maybe as far down as lac de Mervent.
intend to look at the pyrenees in the summer and maybe some sandy bottom lakes in the sw late in the year.
would be grateful to know if anyone used the relief shading on lakes in these areas.
pm me if you think necessary but not after anyones hard found info just some advice if the areas i have in mind are covered.
thanks in advance for any help

Yep
Use it at home to “look about” and then sync to the plotter and it also links to the phone.
You can use it on 2 devices at any time so if you use 3 you need to remove one but can link it back again at anytime.
It is a yearly subscription
The pictures I posted were from the navionics app subscription account.
Works on Apple and Google devices equally as well.
Just zoom into the area you want to map and download it. Then update, click on relief shading and it opens with all the bottom contours.
Lowrance do their version also cmaps
But I use this on a lowrance device with no problem

Happy to have a look at any area you would want checked for you before you purchase if you like If I can get onto the French maps area with my account

anyone usimg Navionics downloaded onto a tablet for barhemetric charts.think garmin own it now about £30 a year subscription,
i see theres an europe inland waterways option and was wondering what the coverage was like?
a 10"chartplotter with navigation and waypoints would be amazing and really useful on the public lakes.
anyone?

Get the best transducer you can afford that is compatible with the unit you decide to purchase.
There’s usually 2 or 3 available at different price points.

Some lakes have been mapped by navionics so could be worth checking if your lake has been done and then you can get quality bathy maps.
You can also use it for gps navigation and set pins etc all kinds of stuff via your phone.

If I can attach it…

Looking to find depths etc, not really a lake map type like what you get with rt7 etc.

Lowrance, garmin or raymarine. Would like to accurately log spots on a GPS feature also?

Power wise I've got a smart power battery box which runs 2 separate breakers, but I can always put in another 30ah battery for the system but would like to keep it simple for setting up reasons

lots of different options - touch screens, types of sonar (chirp) etc

wrt power supply - are you running it from your boat battery as that can cause interference on some models & it's best to have a separate power source.

can't remember the name of it but Samir Arebi (Nash) did a film & a podcast on the kit he uses & talks extensively about how he uses his current one - he says he is able to identify carp holes, mussel beds etc. definitely worth a watch / listen before you buy.

When you say ‘map the bottom’ are you wanting to produce a bathemetric map?

Getting into more boat fishing and wanted to add a sonar to my boat. Primarily to map the bottom to help find some spots on new waters.

Budget around 4 -600, for the unit and transducer. I already have a 12v power supply
