My bait is still made by Tony at Premier, no additives apart from CreamStim… when I spoke to him last he’s only a tiny amount left, same with Geoff at ABS apparently.
From what I gather I think it’s still produced in Switzerland? But due to restrictions etc it’s no longer viable to import it from a cost perspective.
I have a small amount to use for hookbaits etc, I’ve sourced various powders trying find a similar product, the BAF’s Milk E, CcMoores version, AA baits and Cotswolds Milk B+ and I’ve found Cotswolds to be very similar to my nose. Obviously it would be also the most expensive but eh oh.

And you would probably need access to the bank of England's gold reserves to afford it. If they were ever able to extract enough in the first place..

Apparently it's widely used in the cosmetic industry and has a light sweet nutty smell!

Not sure tbh. Whether the Cotswold stuff had this in or whether it was synthetic I've no idea.

Does it smell of Strawberry though?

Did read something once about it, horrendous to extract as the seeds are so small

Both the seed and the leaf contain oil, so in effect there is a strawberry essential oil.

That’s why I said “oil” - but it was a strange one, it wasn’t like a concentrated flavour, but a drop was enough.

Mind you, was 30 yrs ago 🤔

like vossy said - pretty much every bait additive has a bulk carrier & that will depend on the base of the prime ingredient.

strawberry might not have any oils in it but I am sure the esters that create the smell / flavor will have some hydroscopic tendencies & be better suited to an 'oil' type base.

It wouldn't surprise especially in the volumes it's sold to us anglers in, there's no way it'd not be in carrier
I have some original Nash Peach Oil Palatant, it gets touched that infrequently it settles into its constituents. I'm guessing the flavour part is the small bit at the bottom, it's dark caramel versus the light straw colour of the carrier above, probably 1 in 100, or something like that.

I bought a jar of strawberry seed oil once, there was no resemblance to strawberry aroma in it, the angling product is probably just a flavour and a carrier I would imagine.

Didn't no there was any oil in a strawberry. I know they don't extract from the fruit. More the plant itself. Probably was a consintrated Strawberry flavour on an oil carrier base.

They did a strawberry “oil” back then, mega stuff. 1 drop per lb. Love to know what it really was.

Hi all,
From memory Cotswold baits back in the late 80's was Brian parker & Andrew jock downs, i can remember lots of articles raving about their salmon & shrimp liquid,
I did very well on their red dragon base mix if memory serves me right.
OMG just realised how long ago that was

That was Andrew Jock Downes who had the origional biggy out on Engy. Remember seeing the pic all over there advertising at the time. Would of been around 1990..
