In reply to Post #4 Whilst all pegs produce, the better pegs tend to be 2, 4, 6,8 and 9 or 10.
It's impossible to describe the depths in each swim via a message, the lake has many features. Other than peg 3 (which basically has a steady slope to very deep water) all other pegs have some form of feature or another. We do a walk around on the Saturday when we explain the features in each peg.
The depths change between 2 ft up to 28ft. Some pegs (1 and 10 for example) are like an egg box!
Remember it's an ex quarry dug in the 1930s with some large rocks in it and bars and plateaus. Google earth will help a bit. The most notable bar being the continued point under water to the right of peg 8 (but only fishable from 5 and 6) the large "bar" (it is in fact a big large flat topped rock!) down the middle of the lake between pegs 4 and 8, the "underwater point" in peg 9, the bar in peg 10, and the numerous features in peg 2 (Plateu, shelf, slope). Only Margin that appears to produce is to the left of peg 6 or right peg 7 where the pipe from Westwood lake enters). The margin to right of peg 3 and left of peg 2 looks good, but isn't! (Fish go in there but i think it's to silty to get decent presentation). The margin around 1 can sometimes produce, which can also be accessed from swim 2 or 10.

In reply to Post #3 I will be joining the party coming last week of September and looking forward to the challenge. Which are the more favourable pegs and could you give me some idea of the lakes depths ie shallow and deeper parts of the lake. I'm aware of the bar in peg 10.
Thanks
Andrew

What do you want to know?
I can't give an unbiased view as i own it!
It's moderately difficult (not hard).
Not at all Peggy (every week a different swim is top).
There are 10 pegs for 8 Anglers. Of which 5 of them are usually the better pegs. But always a different 1 of those 5 each week.
Largest Mirror is King Arthur at 95lb. Merlin also a mirror has gone 76lb earlier this year.
There are another 4 x 60s and about 12x 50s . Rest of stock is a mix between mid 20s up to upper 40s. There is a 60lb common in there (Sept 24) and another that went 59 in April. (Not been caught since).
It's deep (28ft) and gin clear. The fish are very line weary. That's where most people who struggle fall foul. That said one angler this year had 30 fish in a week. 6 x40s included. But he fished extremely well!
It's quiet and remote. No phone signal. Away from any roads.
It's not a runs water and 7 fish a week to an angler is a decent return . But there are fish of a lifetime in there!
If it's not for you, its not for you! It can be moody!

Have a chance to fish this next year.... what I've read and seen so far doesn't grab me, yet. Any views out there from someone who has fished it fairly recently? Is it Peggy, good points/bad points? Go or swerve?!
All views welcome.
