I did find that the actual map could sometimes be slightly 'off' from the real world maps.
Years ago, when the Deeper Pro Plus first came out I exported the raw data from some scans.
I then done a few things to turn it into a file that Google Earth could import.
The results weren't that impressive and that's where I realised the data could be offset slightly and the scan data shape and actual lake shape didn't match up

In reply to Post #8 Not only your experience ... the premium maps are so far from reality that it's a comedy. Not worth the money.

Also take the deeper app with caution. My experience with it was terrible, obsurdly wrong, 10ft deep water in the carpark etc on all my local lakes. Could just be my experience though.

In reply to Post #6 If I am not mistaken, you can use the software/app on it's own...without the need to connect a Deeper device.
Obviously you need to subscription to see the publicly shared maps/data

In reply to Post #2 hi ,thanks for all the advice,
with the deeper app is it possible to pay for the subscription and use it on a tablet without purchasing a deeper as just want simple gps location on the mapped lake?

navionics is for boating so will most likely only show waters where public watercraft are allowed
deeper app annoys me as the map & the app are different to each other.

Check to see if you need paid subscription for the area you are going to first
Some parts only work with a paid subscription
Navionics uk Ireland and Holland subscription only cater for a small part of northern France.

In reply to Post #1 I haven’t found any app unique or specific to France.
I have used the Deeper app. I don’t have the Deeper gadget, but many public lakes have been mapped and the maps uploaded to Deeper site, so I used it just to get screenshot maps of the lakes near to me (Normandy).
Deeper app has a subscription. Should be able to get a free trial, to see if it has what you need.
