I had the cygnet quicklock and I thought I'd love it but found it a bit too flimsy.
I now have the cygnet compact pod base that's a goal post set up and much more solid.
Super light and compact, uses cheapo 16mm sticks and my goalpost bars.

I use the old Solar sly pod, it’s lighter, not much to go wrong, if you can push sticks in just use supplied sticks that come with the pod.

take a look at the cygnet compact pods.(might be branded as trakker now)

they are exactly what you are looking for in that they are the same design as a sod pod (central pole with a couple of fold out ends at either end), cheap, light & pack away to a very small size (mine lives in the bottom of my rucksack).

the lightness means they aren't as stable as a sod pod so use short banksticks on them & keep everything low to the ground & you'll be fine.

I've been through a few pods over the years & I am really happy with this one.

I never really use any of it but its there just incase. Used fishing tackle is never an investment.

Maybe the Solar Mini Boss Pod is also one to consider. The legs could be used as single banksticks.

Sold my first one, regret in a couple of years but finally bought another one to replace.

I'd ruled out suggesting a SP as the original poster said it had to be lighter, personally I dont think theyre that heavy.

I'm with you, I had 2 Sod Pods, I sold the 1 I used most of the time (near 30 years) and kept the 2nd one. I didn't realise how sentimentally attached I was to it, until I sold it....bloody fool :-(
Both mine were modified so the centre bar came off the bosses so the 2 ends went in my landing mat made up, see below.

Onslow, have you thought about getting something like the Sabre Terrain X and making your alarms, rests QR, so you can just swap at will? Can't believe the price of those pods, ridiculously cheap! I have 3 pods all fitted with QRs so its a doddle to swap.

Unless you are hanging on to something you never use , as an investment, why not part with it ?

Agree, sod pod would be my choice as well. Very compact and not that heavy. Ive got one in the garage thats almost brand new. Think ive only used it twice since i got it in the 90’s. Bought some short legs for it and short uprights a couple of years ago. I could never part with it.

How about buying a nice used Sod pod. ?ebay has a few normally not much to go wrong and clean up lovely with Auto sol

Those pocket pods ,be careful....they didn't accept my son's Neville or my Solar bankstick diameter,

I actually have two sod pods ,one is for one rod ,the other for a pair, two plus one ..!

I only use use them where needed, normally it's just banksticks but as you said ,some places are rock hard ..

I know you want lighter, but Sod pods not too heavy ,I prefer heavy for stability .

Was thinking about the wychwood pocket pod.

A system sold a couple of years ago. Similar design like the Mk1 sodpod but possible to use with your current banksticks if they are the right diameter.

There is one on EBay atm. Item number 324633972754

Ahha and I'm not even on the sauce yet

Like the old solar sod pod used to unfold the 4 legs out and had the little extension that you would add your bars too.

I did think about asking Keith but he'd probably send me away with a fle in my ear for asking him to copy someone else.

I will see what he's got though, just in case

Bit confused by your post tbh. A sod pod type you can spin your bars on to, but your STICKS are the wrong size, is it just me

Edit, have you thought about using cross bars with your existing set up, like in this link? If they don't fit your stick I'm sure Keith at Defiant MPS could make some that do, very reasonably priced.(assuming you use double sticks on the bars)
