Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated

It was betwwen Tricknut and Creamamino. I've ordered the usual, boilies, both coloured pop ups, the wafter barrels (which I'll try and turn into bottom baits by saturating (won't use lead wire nowadays). Also ordered the paste kit as I tend to fish method feeder a lot (old fart alert...it'll come back), I'll cut the base mix with some coarser ingredients to pad it out/increase leakage.

I wish more companies would do odd shaped bottom baits or dumbells, round is a bit obvious, and the match scene can't be wrong with the availability there. It really annoyed me having to buy 5kg DNA S7 years back just for hookbaits, I suppose in the end it all went in the drink anyway, bet the roach enjoyed them! I know you can cut down a bigger boilie, but I'd have to order big boilies to do that and I don't use them on the whole. push comes to shove I'll try and roll my own, never done dumbells deliberately so that'll be fun if I do.

The problem with Gavs site is the choice At Xmas I made a list, it was shocking, I had to reel myself in (pardon the pun)

EDIT, I used to roll my own, the CC Moore Nut, it was a swine for the home roller due to the nut granules and it was quite sticky. I still use the roasted nut extract to make bait soaks etc.

Hi Vossy,

I got back into carp fishing in May/June last year, and Tricknut was my first bait to get back on. It smells and feels a quality bait.

Their wafters and pop are great too, and matching pellet. I've caught well with their small tricknut pellets.

I made a glug up too and it worked well for crushed boilies/bread crumb and also soaking hook baits - baileys irish cream, condensed milk, Ammereto and cloudy manilla.

You won’t be disappointed, like no other bait I have seen before or since.

I've just put my first order in at Handcraft for Tricknut (forum members recommended it as a good nut based boilie, thank you).
I'm a bit particular about things and Gav has been brilliant with the comms yesterday and today, very very helpful

Can't comment on Handcrafted but another happy shrimp user here. Used it previously and found it a great bait but had switched to a local firm purely for convenience as it is stocked in local shops and easy to grab a bag.
Having struggled the last two seasons I switched back to the shrimp and have caught this season that the last two combined - won't be wandering away from it again!

I’m using both the shrimp and the squid from Trent baits. Been on it just over a year now and doing pretty well tbh. Had to use the stabilised all last year due to lack of freezer space. This year I’m on the freezer bait and doing equally as well so far. Buy with confidence.

Why narrow it to those 2?

Trent are more established and i'd go for the squid or Shrimp if pushed but its not cheap and post always has to be taken into account. DNA for example offer better deals always ,free post and proven baits and produce tonnes of bait weekly. Service is great too.
Baitworks were and are v good but more pricey if not bought in bulk on a deal.
RG look decent too.

Get the best deal for the amount you need and have a range to suit your angling.

Both seem good baits. I currently use shrimp and their squid , can’t fault it ….maybe try both on your chosen lake see which bait suits it . My two waters , squid out fishes shrimp on one , other way round on other🤷🏼‍♂️

What bait is it you are currently using? I used the shrimp on a previous syndicate, very weedy sand pit and done very well on it. The added bonus was the bait and colour of the lake bed on the clear spots were very similar which helped reduce the birdlife having it all.

It is a very light coloured bait so something to consider if the birdlife is a real issue

Most of my fishing is done of weedy gravel pits, for pressured carp so having confidence and a high quality bait makes all the difference.
There’s a couple of reasons why I’m changing baits but the first and most important reason is I feel the bait I have been using has changed and not what it was, I’m not the only one who thinks that had a few close friends who think the same. So I want to get on a bait and hopefully not change.

I've used both and think they are both fantastic baits. maybe look at the type of lake or lakes you are fishing and pick the one that suits the lake best

One question though, you must have done well on your current bait to use it for 8 years so why change? If it's a good bait and you have confidence in it keep using it
