Yes it does have GPS. Plus if you use bait boat mode it uses your phone GPS anyway. You can mark a ‘place’, and even go back through your scan history, find the spot you liked and mark it there. Then when you put the deeper out again the saved places are displayed on the left side of the screen (on the bathymetric map) and your scan on the right. Your deeper position is also shown on the bathymetric map, so yes GPS is only accurate to a couple of metres but in practise you can guide your boat to the saved spot, then find the exact spot by watching the scan screen.

GPS is only really accurate to +/- 2m anyway. If you want more accuracy there is another system called RTK which is a variation on GPS but uses a fixed base station as well as the GPS onboard the boat to get a more accurate fix. Its expensive tough.

Google Pixhawk, Pilotcube, ardupilot and/or RTK if you're interested in finding out more.

I think someone is on the verge of producing an RTK boat, or at least the autopilot functionality that uses RTK to get a more accurate fix - think it was Spider RTK or something.

Interesting stuff though and using RTK will be a huge improvement, but it'll be expensive until it gets more productionized.

You will not be able to, as the unit does not have GPS.

I have a Deeper and was wondering if I find a location that I like can the Deeper save the exact position, As in using my bait boat to send to the same location using the deeper on the boat
