In the end I decided to spend the money and bought the XL version of the ridgemonkey.
The small version never gave me any problems and hopefully this will serve me well for years to come. Thanks for the suggestions guys

A lot of the cheap Amazon ones don't have removable handles so are unwieldy to fit in our typical luggage, so take that into consideration when choosing.

Found one on A****n £10.99. OK it's a bread slice size model, but for that money, who cares? Tried at home & it works perfectly

In reply to Post #1 Google Sandwich skillet. The origional ridgemonkey was just a rebadged skillet of the net. Plenty out there.

I have the small (standard) ridgemonkey toaster which is excellent but I do wish I had bought the XL version.
Are there any decent cheaper alternatives to the ridgemonkey?
