I have 3 of these but have yet to find a reason to use them over bread on a hook.
I guess you can cast them further?

I donít rate them better off just free lining Bread

Yeah theyíre great for keeping the bread on. Quick dip on the water and you can fling it a fair way.
You do need to get your bread the right way round though so the hook sits above the water. I use a big size 4 so itís a lot trickier but even sitting under the bread itís still fine. Put it in wrongly though and youíll have the hook at a funny angle on the side or something.
