Never had it let me down fishing a weedy water. I do get what you’re saying but I have lots of faith in 20lb x line

The loop has two lengths of flouro for the swivel to rub against, but it only takes one to go and the loop pulls through the lead and the fish is gone. I wouldn’t trust that personally but if it works for you

I tie a figure of 8 loop about 5” in the bottom of my mainline. On the top of the knot I sit a 4mm bead and the just loop the lead on the bottom underneath my buffer bead. This way when you receive a bite you are playing the fish on a double section of fluorocarbon. I hope that makes sense. Makes it easy to change leads

Do you tie the lead straight to the mainline or a quick change swivel?

I use 20lb x line straight through. And just use a large buffer sleeve above the lead. I don’t loose the lead, I just use the lightest lead possible.

Never used a chod before but want to give it a go. Wondering what peoples components are when using a naked chod. Not a fan of lead core or leaders which is why i want to go naked.
