In reply to Post #6 So I've just bought a used Harrison Torrix 2lb 12ft ... lets hope it meets my needs
In fact, it came as a pair so I paid way more than I initially thought

In reply to Post #1 May be out of budget but Torrix 12' 2.25 - mine are ringed for barbel but you could get them set up differently - lovely progressive action with some welly in the butt for the bigger fish

The FS CTX rods are lovely for the money, you won’t go wrong with that and you will get a great scrap on a 2lb TC barbel rod 👌

In reply to Post #2 I was actually looking at one of the Free Spirit Barbel CTX rods.
I know its a 'mind game' thing but I was struggling to get my head around buying a barbell rod for carp fishing.
As I want a cork handle my choices seem to be more limited and pushing me the barbel rod route

In reply to Post #1 Have a look at some of the barbel rods.
I have just got a pair of the korum 2.5lb barbel rods and they would be ideal, and less than £50 a rod.

Hi All
I'm looking for a 12ft full cork handled relatively low TC rod (by todays standards) something perhaps between 2lb and 2.75lb.
I don't need to cast any great distance and I prefer using lighter tackle and a fuller action rod for fish up to high teems or perhaps low twenties. (My PB is 17lb taken off the top with using a 12ft S Free Spirit CTX Waggler rod)
Looking to spend to a max £180
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
