In reply to Post #54 Could have been custom or just ordered from harrisons via a shop. I really liked the green blanks but didn't think they looked right with cork, and since I prefer Cork handles I tended to go with burgundy or chestnut

In reply to Post #55 Same....its one of my best bits of kit..such fun ,especially in colder times ,use it for anything with fins..so sensitive...slightest knock, etc
You never know there could be a swingtip revival, apart from Dave Kelly, the only firm you could get a off the shelf ,new swingtip rod,was Tricast, but I fear they have been discontinued..
Or a old one off of ebay..or Jeff on here,if he does them.

In reply to Post #53 As Jeff has pointed out. I recently looked into having a swing tip rod made up on a North Western blank, that would have been newly built but on a 30 odd year old blank.
All above board, just old stock blanks.
It's more common than you think, just not really in the 'next best thing' world of Carp spin!

In reply to Post #53 Put some photos up - unless they've been custom made never seen Torrix in a green blank - what type of reel seats are on the rods?

In reply to Post #49 I know the rods were 'used' but the seller said they were two years old. They looked black / carbon in the photos and when I collected them ( in the dark, he wouldn't let me in the house) they looked black / carbon as well.

In reply to Post #46 100% agree. I fish now primarily to relax and stare at the lake I'm fishing and obviously the rods are in front of the lake.
These 2lb (or even the 2.25) are perfect for me so at least thats a bonus. Maybe I'll get used to them or I might even get over being an idiot for being so shallow ... Who knows.

In reply to Post #45 I didn't even know there was a 'tarty tackle section', I'll take a look.

In reply to Post #43 I 100% agree that this is a style over substance issue.
The rods are great and just what I wanted and I think I got them for a fair price.
I'm just sure I like the look of them, they look black in low light but when the sun gets on them they are clearly green.

In reply to Post #48 The reason he told you is because you may have wanted to buy another in the future.Obviously he would not have been able to supply one. Im always upfront with customers if i have a few blanks i could,nt supply other than the ones i have.

In reply to Post #40 That could be true. I had a “new” rod built for me by Bob Morris on a Fibatube 1lb 4oz blank that they had stopped making a decade before.
You could debate whether I had bought a “new” rod.
Being Bob he was completely honest and told me this when I was testing different blanks so it was all in the open. Lovely guy but maybe not a hard edged businessman!
