Absolutely true - but I am such a fanny and ham fisted I don’t like the actual link in the jaws of the pliers - and yes appreciate that is ridiculous!

You can achieve that flare with the Korda pliers, no need to buy another set. Just leave 1mm of the crimp outside of the jaws of the tool when you crimp down.

I love the idea and neatness of crimps and crimping and since the Korda tool came out I must have crimped about 60 different booms, practice and rigs but never fished with one. I have never been 100% confidence in them and so like a noddy destroy them with brute force to prove a point. But I liked the look of the new fox ones and picked up some second hand with the flouro fox material. I am super impressed and have at least got over crimp fobia.

The joy (to me) are that these give a flared end, a nice touch but not the game changer - but what I think it does do is unlike the Korda ones ‘proves by sight’ it is crimped properly. An absolute brilliant bit of kit that whilst I don’t use both ends has meant my loops and connections are confidence brimming - and this is on the back of landing several good hard fighting, big fish over the past few weeks.

Really recommended for any other cack handers who previously struggled.
