I've joined a new club for the coming river season and will have a new stretch of the Thames in Oxfordshire to fish. It has a good reputation for Barbel and chub. How would you approach fishing a new stretch like this and finding some Barbel? Obviously will ask around and see what I can find out but what features would you look for and what approach to try and find them? I've done a few wye trips but beyond that have mainly fished smaller rivers where you can generally spot fish so not quite sure where to start.
