On an iPhone, go into Settings > Accessibility > Voice Control and set it to On.

Go into Camera, set to selfie mode and say 'turn volume up'.

Make sure to turn voice control to off when finished taking photo.

Yeah ,I've done the trueprint wait for fishing, and been disappointed as well,..I used to do a ratio of 3 to 1 on my wedding pics,,and that spilled over into my fishing ..

We've all been there, you've caught a nice fish ,matey says I can take a photo ,you pass him your 35mm ,...yeah.. we all know the answer when the pics came back ,thats why I taught myself blind takes ,using a kiddies toy til I got it right ..

I got back into my proper photography recently, when I discovered a few mega old Oaks so i dug dslr out for that ..they 600 yrs plus ,awesome trees .

Lol ,I see what I mistyped lol...

Batman,I used to take my jessops waterproof camera bag ,air release ,slik 50 tripod, 2x Olmpus OM system bodies ,bounce flash ..couple of rolls of fuji film or some b/w for messing around with ...but I used to worry my kit would ruin in the bivvy ,I did get hundreds of decent pics tho,all blind selfies ..
Then,I got a waterproof mju, compact ..and self timer ,then a complete Dynax system which was awesome..

Now it's just a Cheapo smart phone ,and one bankstick, sometimes, when weather bad I just screw bankstick into the door way of my shelter ,and take pics from inside

( there's a famous Ken Townley pic from College inside his Dave Barnes overwrap lol, terrible weather )

I got a nice digital system ,I don't hardly ever use it now ,sadly..I don't like a lot of modern tech ,but phones ,make decent pics easy ...

I used to use a bankstick and the gardner angled camera adaptor when using a camera with a flip around screen, canon a620, a630, a650, S5, and with the air release bulb system it made self takes a doddle.
But too much rubbish to cart around, too many batteries to check they were charged and ready.

The only issues I have had using the small tripod and phone are;
Can't tell if picture has been taken, can phone hear your cheese. Put the flash on!
Phone blowing over in the wind. Choose a better position.
Rain on the phone. Put tripod on bucket in bivvy doorway.
Too much background noise from mway, stormy winds, to operate the cheese! Set timer, step up to phone and shout cheese, then pick up fish.

The post is about tripods ...but I want to make another suggestion ....ditch the tripod ,I found you will get far better smart phone pics using the Chinese gadget ,Baitman shows and a Dinsmores spiral point bankstick ..and a level app on your phone

By using a spiral point ,there isn't anywhere other than concrete or a landing stage you can't get one of these into the ground they are lighter and more storage friendly

What you do is put a elastic marker on the inner bankstick ,so that stays the same height every time you use it ..

You put that spiral point in at the start of your trip, day or night ,obviously checking out the background ,you leave the main part of spiral point in situ ,yr phone can be put on the Chinese holder in yr bivvy ..ready ..

You don't need a remote ,...put one hand under the fish ,lean across press the timer with the other hand ,you don't need a whistle app or similar either...keep it simple ,..lift fish ...not happy with the pic ,carefully put fish back on the mat, turn the 'not screwed ' upper bankstick to check ,...yup happy return fish ,not happy ,another quick pic..

The level app horizontal and vertical usage when setting the bankstick up is the key ,remember your using a close focal range ...

Coming from,a wedding photographer background ,old skool 35mm blind self takes ,to using a 4thirds mirror less and tripod ....that above is the most reliable honest way to record your fish .

As much as it pains me to say it
You need a ridgemonkey multi clamp
Then you can clamp it anywhere to the barrow and leave it on there permanently then just screw the phone holder or camera to it
Move the barrow to the photo position and click away.

My test shots are terrible, but add the fish into the mix and my 'trophy' shots are even worse. I normally end up looking like some kind of rabid phsycho with glasses 😂😂
