Well 2nd Test tomorrow Anderson and Broad back in the frame, Woods rested Leach still in squad. For me until we can regularly score 350+ in our !st innings then we should not play Leach unless we are playing on a big turning wicket.
Feel for Stokes as well recovering from injury and illness and flung in the deep end.
Hazlewood is a big blow for the Aussies but Richardson is a decent enough replacement.
Australia played 8 D/N matches and won them all.
Cmon England lets dig deep and silence the critics (incuding me).

They flatter to deceive.

Ah well after that glimmer of hope back to being England again got what we deserved ..... nothing.

In reply to Post #173 Yep need them two to see out 1st session and the new ball.

Better day, hopefully we're still batting when I get up tomorrow

In reply to Post #171 I want Morgan on that committee

In reply to Post #170 We don't put enough runs on the board to help the likes of Leach and we don't have a spinner that could tie one end up liike Swann did.
For me Anderson and Broad should have started looking at the wicket and conditions.resting players at the start of series is ridiculous if they can't play first two tests then don't take them simples.
And they need to go back to a selection commitee rather than just Silverwood.

Oh look, stokes has a niggle and leach is going round the park
Head is looking dangerous, they need to get him out quickly!
This is exactly the situation I saw coming, 3 seamers getting bowled into the ground.

Well, that went well!

In reply to Post #167 Allan Border said on commentary i can't believe England have got 1100 test wickets sitting on the sidelines.
Play them for the first two tests then rest them.
When i saw that surface i thought if they bowl straight we're in trouble and they did and we are.
I bet Warner can't believe his luck that Broad's not playing.
Still with any luck the wicket will be sweating and retain some moisture for our bowlers.
Woakes and Robinson are the key before it flattens out.

In reply to Post #165 Agree it's his natural game wherever he bats he should play like that.

In reply to Post #164 Hopefully woakes bats 7 and joss is told to go hard at the bowlers, he looks lost trying to play like a proper test batsman, I'd rather see him hole out after a 5 ball 20 than go into his shell and get out after a dentury

In reply to Post #163 Yeah Pope needs runs now hope he can fulfil his promise and prove he has got it at this level.
Hope Woods can stay fit and Robinson keeps bowling the way he been. Woakes brings a bit more depth to the batting as well as being a decent bowler who makes way far too often.
Bring on midnight.

No Jimmy for the 1st test, and probably leach carrying the drinks.
Pope in over bairstow, big series for him
