Buy cat rods for targeting cats, carp rods don't have anywhere near the right action or enough backbone, causing prolonged fights which can cause fatalities due to lactic acid build up.

Think the ops are same as scopes , with other handles etc,
Also have the 9 ft scopes in 3 lb, and indeed very nice playing rods with a great curve in them, fish up in 30's range no problem, but find them a little to light for small bag (+-100gr), thinking about 3,25 as i would like a bit more power, but would still want a playing rod,

I have the 10 foot 3.5 TC scopes(not Black Ops) and easily landed a 26b cat on them lately.

That's a good point about the solid bags as that's the majority of my fishing, I wonder if the 3.5's are much stiffer than my 12-6 Torrix's - not a problem since I probably need that for the cats. Looks like I'm edging towards the bigger tests.

I've recently gone back to the scopes and have 2 sets main set are 9ft 3.5 Stepped up specials and the other a set of 9ft 3lbs. I can't comment on the black ops blank as i don't know how different the blank is to the normal scopes but the difference in my 3.5s to 3s is massive as they have a lot more power and are no where near as nice to play fish on but big leads and bags are no trouble for these, whereas the 3s are very pleasant for a short rod and fine for normal lead work but struggle a bit with solid bags (not what they are really designed for i know lol,)

I'm thinking of doing something the wife would probably hang me for, and that is buying another set of new rods.

Just lately I have started visiting the odd water which is smaller than my normal type venue. After a fantastic session the other week, I will be booking on at Lakemore in Crewe a few times a year where my 12-6 Torrix are massively over the top and a set of ten footers would generally come in handy.

So I keep looking at the Nash Black Op's Scopes with the Alp's seats, they look absolutely beautiful in 9 or 10ft / 3.5TC.

Has anyone got these rods and if so what do you think of them?

TIA Pete

Post edit: I target cats quite a bit so the 9 footers in 3TC might not be up to it??
