Thank you, most shops have either the 35 or the 45. I've found a shop that has both that I'm near for half term.

No, it's not overkill at all. Get yourself to a shop and look at some, side by side.

Evening all.

Anyone had experience of both the 35 and the 45. Is the 45 overkill for upto 100 yards with 3lb TC rods?

From several posts below, it sounds like the 35 is a better reel - not sure how that can be the case, I assumed it was more horses for courses in terms of size required.

thx for replying, ive got a set of mint 1400xtd but she wasn't to know so I'm selling the xtds and keeping the emblems. it was a thoughtful present off her.

Not the emblems, but had a lot of daiwa reels and always just use them as they come out the box. Nice little christmas present that

hi guys, the mrs clocked me looking at these reels and bought me a set for xmas. I know each reel can be different but when spooling up have you had to add or take off any washers for a completely flat linelay.

Hi ALL

Would like to say a big thank you to all who.. replied to my question manual bail arm, been InTouch with Daiwa, they confirmed the Daiwa Emblem 45 SCW QD Reels do have a manual bail arm.
I would take that goes with there higher brand reels also..
