I have used them loads in the past and may continue to do so for low value items. However I recently bought a set of Century rods from them, and between placing the order and their despatch I needed to talk to someone. Only them did I realise that there is no way at all to have a telephone conversation with them—after lots of scouring the web I found a phone number, but upon calling it received a voice message actually saying, “we don’t take incoming calls”.

The only option is an email/Whatsapp with an expected response “within 24 hours”. When I actually ended up in email conversation with the support rep (slightly more than 24 hours later) he said that they removed the telephone option because they “were getting too many calls”. So the solution to having customers with queries is to make it impossible for those customers to talk to you. What kind of customer service is this? The actual answer is to analyse why you have so many queries and fix whatever is causing that and/or employ more people to answer phones. And if Angling Direct and Johnson Ross as major competitors can do that without charging more, then TFT should be capable of doing so.

And yes, AD do make it infuriatingly difficult to find their support number, but it can be done and the odd times I’ve had to use it they have been brilliant. But overall for pricing, availability and customer service I would always now use Johnson Ross. Wonderful place to deal with.

Funnily enough my last issue, in the last week, is with their ebay shop.
Thinking of getting a longer sling for Pike ( forewarned Karlos )
Different listings, Gardner Continental Sling, standard and XL, same pic, same size/description, 2 different prices, the XL being cheaper.
They said they'd let me know but haven't and on checking just now they're changed the listing's and prices.

Maybe I should have stayed stum and bought it? if it was wrong they'd have to pay return P&P but I'm too honest to do that.

I've never had any issues with TFT with the few things I've purchased but then again I have always used the e-bay shop rather than thru' their website. Not sure if that makes any difference. It shouldn't, obviously.

I've got to say the last couple of dealings I've had via whatsapp haven't been great, it's almost like they can't be bothered reading the continuation of the conversation, replying with irrelevant answers for different products. When I pointed that out they stopped replying to me. so I haven't bought the things I'd been looking at.

I personally think its one of the best shops. Its never going to be a johnson ross but ive had some cracking bargains from TFT over the years. They sell loads and prob not their fault if the manufacturers cant keep up and restock them.

I've used them twice in the last 6 months and never had any problems, everything I've bought shows in stock on the website.

Personally not gonna use them again.
Had £150 of vouchers..

It seems like whatever i wanted wasn't in stock \ sold out so needed to wait forever or go buy it elsewhere (pointless having vouchers).

Just used up the last £60 on rig bits; which to be fair i did need to re-stock my tackle box with however it wasn't what i wanted to spend the money on.

Lesson Learned, Next Birthday \ Christmas vouchers from Johnson Ross where i know they have basically everything under the sun on the shelves AND a number you can call to speak to some super helpful staff.

Just my 2 cents

Horrendus company when it comes to faulty goods, I will never buy a large item mail order again as a result of my dealings with them. Unless I can drive to the shop easily it wont be getting my money.

I used TFT a few months ago for their black Friday sale and they were awesome, I was asked for some info on alarms and they emailed back super quickly, after a few back and forth they gave me a great deal on some Prologic alarms, the deal was better than advertised, I then found out that they don't take Canadian credit cards so I had to get my parents in the UK to pay for the item and have them sent to my parents who then shipped them over to me. They were great and told me that if I ever want anything else to contact them directly as they can sometimes offer a better than advertised price. They also told me that they are in the process of offering international shipping and international payment options so I'm excited for when that finally happens.

I have used TFT loads of times and cannot fault them at all. Always worth waiting for the discount periods that they have at certain times of the year especially when they are offering 15% off. Also worth checking Instagram as they offer additional deals on there. Recently they were offering 6 free gas cannisters if u spent over £200 with a 15% discount on Instagram but it was only there for a few hours. Luckily I spotted it and cashed in. Great company.
