touch of the Phil Spectors about the production maybe? (not the personality though... )
edit - 'loss of taste' now added to the list of C-19 symptoms. Not sure if that includes taste in music scozza ....
(.... waits for the inevitable ....)

In reply to Post #223 Up there with one of their best that Mal
One of my favourite albums Achtung Baby
As for the Smiths and Morissey. Used to work with a lad he was obsessed with them. Can’t say I’m their biggest fan but they do have a few decent tracks. Everyday is just like Sunday, Charming man etc.

In reply to Post #225 Although not the producer Martin Rushent was involved with that recording. He was a also a very clever chap
Talking of producers not only was he a founder member of Roxy Music take a look at Eno and who he has produced and what he has contributed 'enoxification' to.

In reply to Post #223 It's ok I suppose
I haven't even thought about a funeral song but I may consider
THIS
Love the guitar 3:15 minutes onwards, that backwards effect must be the work of Tony Visconti who is a genius

In reply to Post #222 Fair point
for me - that's the 2 best Smiths tracks -good choice.
bono / U2 are responsible for my all time favourite song. It's in my will to be played at my funeral.
(Only 'Purple Rain' comes close.)
for me, the best song ever written and if this is the last thing I hear before i go to the great gig in the sky, I'll arrive with a smile on my face.
