In reply to Post #1 The same make sure they are ok for sheep as they wont contain copper. BEWARE OF PIG PELLETS as they contain copper. Tried ewe nuts around 20 years ago in bulk and to be fair they wasnt that good. Better of buying coarse pallets or halibuts. CSL works best as a liquid if your using pellets these are not much use for baiting up. Cheaper than ewe nuts are corn straights farmers buy these by the ton for feed and are again the same thing.

In reply to Post #18 There are trace elements of copper in MANY food stuffs that go into fish feed. Even simple feeds like Chick Peas have trace copper elements. The carp have eaten plenty of these over the years. It's certainly not advisable to feed carp 2p's for fun but traces won't harm and to be honest would be actually incredibly difficult to avoid.

In reply to Post #17 My bad. What I should have posted is that ewe nuts have minerals added to them to suit lambs in late pregnancy and these minerals have low traces of naturally occurring copper in them. Even a trace of this naturally occurring copper would render them totally unsafe to be fed as feed pellets to carp.

In reply to Post #13 Copper is lethal to sheep there is no added copper to sheep pellets ,there are natural levels that occur in most feed products.
You may be confusing sheep feed with pig feed which used to contain copper in all or most diets these have been reduced and with drawn over the years.
Current levels allowed are for baby piglets up to 4 weeks after weaning: From 170mg/kg to 150mg/kg for complete feed.
5 weeks to 8 weeks after weaning 170mg/kg to 100mg/kg complete feed
This could well be why companies which used to sell Milk pellets as carp feed no longer do as they could have been termed as poisonous to the fish / carp they were being sold for.

In reply to Post #14 I found a site this afternoon sells them at £3.50 a kilo. Only problem is I cannot find out if they sink or not. I asked but they don't know and didn't want to open a bag (8kg) to find out
