In reply to Post #9 I’ve just come back this weekend after visiting Pegasus lakes.
We were booked on another lake within the vicinity, but that owner had “double booked”. I won’t name and shame this owner/lake, although he’s done it to others apparently, to more than half a dozen different bookings so not sure what he’s playing at. We’ve been assured our booking for next year still stands so we’ll see. I’ll soon be shaming him/lake if it happens again.
Anyway, on to Pegasus. Pete is an absolute gent. You don’t get many lake owners like him. He’s ex military hence the name of the lakes. We fished lake 2 as lake 1 was fully booked. I won’t talk about the swims as you can see it all online but there’s plenty of space between pegs and loads of water per swim on both lakes.
Lake 2 has around 1800-2000 fish in 35 acres. Average depth is 8ft. It’s pretty much that across the whole lake. Has bits of weed but nothing to be concerned about. There’s no toilet on the furthest (west side) bank which does make it a massive trek to the main toilets/showers area if you need a poo. The pegs are okay. Definitely need a bait boat to get rigs out in certain areas as trees can cause an issue casting. It’s about 200 yards to the middle of lake, so about 400 yards from west - east bank. A lot of the fish hold up in the middle and we were having to fish up to 190 yards at times. Only bait restriction is nuts. You can use 4 rods and when you have around 2 acres of water per swim to cover, it can prove useful. The average weight of fish is around 20lb. I had a couple mid 30’s with most being doubles and low 20’s. Someone did have a 40 out not long ago, apparently. That was from another angler.
Lake 1 is around 30 acres. Mostly double pegs. I can’t really comment much as I didn’t fish it. Although Pete did allow the guys fishing on the West Bank of lake 1 to fish on lake 2 as well which stopped us from being able to move on to that bank as all pegs that had no anglers in them had sets of rods from lake 1. I’m sure this will change in the coming years as it gets more popular.
Facilities - two showers, two sinks, 2 toilets, each male/female. Binary folk are buggered. The showers are actually really good, rain shower type, but could do with a couple more as there were queues waiting for them.
Freezers/fridge - about 4 of them including a chest freezer. And a rack to charge batteries.
Shop - Mainline and Korda only. No RidgeMonkey in sight nowadays. I understand they used to stock it.
Washing area - around the corner there is an outdoor sink with cold running water to wash your plates, etc.
A sling and cradle are provided.
Bar area - there is open fridges stocked with beer. You can grab anything you like whenever you like, just put on your sheet what you take. Love this honesty rule. There a TV with sport etc.
Nearest supermarket is 12 min drive away. Super U.
Pete will do a mid-week BBQ for €10-15 each. Loads of food and decent too. He will also offer to deliver a pizza/kebab to your swim couple nights in the week.
Summary: this place is definitely an upcoming venue to watch. In a few years it’s going to be one of the popular lakes in the Vitry area. Whilst it’s drive and survive and won’t appeal to some anglers, it’ll be worth it for the fishing in a few years time if you don’t mind cooking on the bank. And the owner is such a sound guy. A true gentleman who will go out his way to help you as he did multiple times to other anglers when I was out there. Some guys had flat tyres, batteries and helped them out.
If I’ve missed anything you want to know, just ask.

In reply to Post #8 Rather than start a new thread is there any update on this venue as I'm out on a social in June. I've heard good things and been told that there is a lot of water per swim but looks a little tight in some areas on the lake map if all double swims are fished as doubles?? PM if you prefer. Any info appreciated. Thanks.

In reply to Post #6 Not sure if your on the right Facebook page as the owner Pete is on the FB page almost daily.
Lovely pits, great facilities and loads of quality fish, albeit with a slightly smaller average size than some more established fisheries. But they're growing quick. Plus a fantastic owner who will do everything possible to ensure a great trip. Can really see this place becoming a very popular fishery within the next few years.
