Thanks!

They still smell amazing, but I just thought I'd check, as I don't know much about them, or what preservatives are used, but I'm sure they're fine.

They will be fine. I’ve got tubs I’ve had for many years now and they are still just as good

How long do the S2s last for, I bought a tub of 12mm popups and some 17mm balanced, back in March - I assume they're ok just stored in a dark, dry environment?

Merry Christmas all…

Lake was frozen solid on Tuesday. Weds & Thurs Ricci managed five bites on the GPB2. Best one 37lb+.

I literally don’t care anymore mate. It used to bother me a hell of a lot… But now I don’t care. I get to make my living from my life long passion, what’s the point in worrying about stuff like that? It’s a good thing right?

Of course it’s still going on and always will be. A good angler is not going to give up his edge. But as my friend the shopkeeper Gary Peet kept telling me… Just take the money and smile.

Ever since SHB started there has always been a pattern regarding sales. If we post something on social media that gathers 2000+ likes and gets seen by say 120,000 anglers. That will bring a noticeable surge in sales.

But there has always been something that brings a far greater surge in sales. An angler will have a special set of results. We might not even get to see the photos… But we see the surge in sales from the part of the country where those results came from. It has been happening from the start. It’s got more and more regular. When an angler starts getting incredible results on a proper lake… Everybody else finds out pretty quickly, they tell their mates, and we get that surge in sales.

The big carp grapevine actually brings us far more sales, than a post that gets clicked on by 120,000 anglers all across Europe on social media. Long May that continue too.

I’d say we still get sales anyway from the anglers from other firms you mention. Everybody knows. You can’t keep nothing like a hook bait secret on a proper lake when someone is hauling. I’ve been told so many times over the years by customers “yeah he actually had that on an S2 I was there when he netted it” 😆

He’s not going there. To be fair to Sticky, we get no problems with them anymore regarding any of that. I personally think that situation was very dependent on who the current media manager is/was previously. There were times in the past, when that position was filled by anglers I was actually fishing the same lakes as. There was ovbs a certain amount of bitterness there because of when they had their arses handed to them in an angling sense.

Plus back then, they wanted the Manila, to have actually been the S2. But that would have involved me selling out before we had even started. People involved closely with Sticky, knew exactly how devastating the hook baits were first hand.

Good luck to Dan seriously. I hope it all works out well for him. He’s moving to France to open a lake, he will no longer be fishing places that require the hook baits anyway to be fair.

Tell you what Mark, I’d like to know how many are using your baits and claiming not to be, especially now they are available elsewhere

Russ Burly was one of our competition winners on Faceache recently, he won some GPB2. First trip with them he landed the biggest and most sort after fish in his syndicate ‘moonscale’ at well over 50lb. Two of the five competition winners (including a member of this forum) both caught 50’s on their free GPB2.

That sort of thing, is by far the best advertising and brings in far more/loyal customers IMO.

Results on the ground. Social media, ‘teams’ and the like is a monstrous part of carp fishing now… But still, results on the ground are far more important… The newer breed of carp anglers can all be fooled by slick advertising. Good anglers know the score.

Unfortunately that’s the last photo I’ll be getting from Dan though. He’s been offered money by another bait firm and a different hook bait company to promote their gear. Best of luck to him. I always get asked when this happens, why we don’t just pay anglers ourselves rather than lose them…

Over the past decade… This has happened many times to us, with many different anglers who done well for themselves using our products. We have ALWAYS stood firm, that anglers use our products, because they are the best… Not because they are paid money to say they are the best. It only attracts the wrong kind of fickle/problem punters anyway that kind of caper.

If we wanted to go down that route, there would have been a Terry Hearn hook bait released donkeys years ago.

60lb+ from France yesterday, great photo of Dan and his Belgian mate. S4. They used a whole pot of 35 hook baits in four days. A lot of bites, they both caught loads 💪🏻
