How do you present these hookbaits, do you fire out just a single with nothing around it or with a pva bag with pellets? Never used them and want to know how other users have found the best results. All replies appreciated.

Great answer Mark, many thanks, inforamtive and well explained.

Now I know my last two 3 hour blanks were probably down to me not the bait I can leave the hookbaits on for a few more goes!

Yes I would have thought that too, although washed out baits can be very effective. But I thought it best to ask the expert.............

If any of you ever go to Thailand fishing... Our S2 (and now Garlic) are absolutely lethal for the Siamese carp. We have known this for a long time, every time one of our customers that has gone to Gilliams etc... They always do VERY well and come back singing the same tune.

This customer Spencer, has just come back yesterday. He said the lake has been fishing very hard, everyone blanking for five or six days. He caught loads on the Garlic and the S2. He ended up kindly giving away all of our hook baits that he had left, to the guides when he left.

The Siamese carp seem to REALLY adore the S2. Mad looking things...

Hi Paul. I would definitely leave them on between trips if you are only doing three hour stints. Natural cork, acts as a vessel in every one of our hook baits. Our curing process, gets our liquids right into the cork. It takes a lot longer to leech out of the cork, than it does the surrounding base mix. They will be effective if you leave them out for three days... Let alone just three hours.

So much so, if you were to use some hook baits for a day, and pop them back into an empty tub... They would regain a lot of their smell, which they did not have when you placed them back into a tub. The cork to a certain extent, refills the baits with the liquids.

Here is an example for you mate. When we first started, three anglers went to Abbey in France. One of them had half a tub of S2's, and it was all they could get a bite on. The three anglers ended up catching an extraordinary number of big carp, on those few hook baits. They were leaving them out for a night, then drying them back out in rotation.

I think it goes without saying that if you use the same bait over and over again all that goodness is being washed out buddy.

Hi Mark, just a quick question if you don't mind.

I have only managed a few very short sessions since getting my S2s and managed a fish a trip on the first two but nothing the last two, now these trips are very short, not the 'quick overnighter' or 'short' day session, I'm talking about 3 hour visits maximum, and being spur of the moment I have had the same bait on each trip.

My question is will using the bait and then effectively air drying it before using it again reduce the effectiveness (I suspect so), if it does then I will have to stop being lazy and tie on a fresh bait each time!

Cheers in advance.
