You can win an Olympic gold medal, Worlds silver medal and two ABA golds without being able to box?

On now, what a card

In reply to Post #3039 He has been rocked a lot of times when you look back at his fights
The sad thing is, these key fights seem to be happening, should have happened years ago, but I suppose we shouldn’t grumble

In reply to Post #3038 Yep I think everyone knew that. He always had that robotic amatuer style. Textbook movements which are easy to read at the highest level. At that level you need an edge to be succesful. His edge was his fearless aggressive and poweful attacks but he lost that confidence and his edge when Ruiz concussed him. Now he appears affraid to commit for fear of being clipped again.
Wallin isnt a big hitter but he is awkward and a half decent boxer, if AJ tries to box it will go to points. If we see the old AJ he will throw everything at him for a stoppage. Need to see the latter from AJ really because we all know he cant box.
Like u say, to beat Wilder you need to put pressure on him, he does not like being bombarded, get in close so his long arms are not effective. Fury made it look easy going in and out. Itll be hard for Parker to emulate that tho being the smaller guy. Should be a decent fight but i think Wilder will smoke him with a heavy shot mid rounds.

In reply to Post #3037 I knew from when I first saw him he couldn’t box, zero lateral movement, planted feet, body builder who can punch with some backward and forward movement, sounds hard but that how it was, he has progressed a little, although he got the win in the second fight he looked like a ****ing robot
Usyk can box and that’s why he got battered and totally exposed. Totally wrong in both fights, head gone, he should have used his strength, bulldozered him into the corners and battered him that was his only chance, making it a dirty fight.
He is focused until he gets hit, OW is a very dangerous fight to take for me but if you are up there, there ain’t many easy ones unless you are truly world class
One of my biggest disappointments of this era is Parker, he can box but seems like he doesn’t want to get hurt and holds back, would love to see an aggressive version with kill on his mind and some bad intentions. I wish he would beat the bronze bummer but as we know, he has dynamite in the right hand, still he is friends with Fury so he will have had some good advise. He needs to be out of range slipping the bomb, in and up close, if he can keep Wilder on the back foot , make him fight at a high tempo, he stands a chance for me

In reply to Post #3033 In my opinion. It all went down hill for AJ after he fought Parker. Parker was the 1st fighter who didnt stand and trade shots with AJ. AJ had to chase him around the ring and actually box rather than slug. He realised soon after than he isnt that good at boxing. For years he relied on his fearless agression and power with very limited actual boxing skill. He then started going on about "learning the sweet science" changing his approach to try and learn how to actually box. He had a wobble in the dressing room before the Ruiz fight, some say he had a panick atrack, he said he was mentally drained which makes sense. His body language on the ring walk was all off aswell. He then gets clipped hard by Ruiz and no one had hit him like that before eventually losing the bout. I think AJ has alot of voices in his head, he seems to of lost his charactor we saw in his early career, the loss against Ruiz has rattled him. He lost his head in the ring after the Usyk fight. For a guy who used to preach about "staying humble" he certainly didnt follow his own advice. Now looking at AJ in the build up to this Wallin fight. He doesnt k ow what charactor he wants to be, the bad guy, the good guy, the quiet guy, the loud guy? He hasnt got a clue what his identity is anymore. He was very blunt in the interviews and just kept saying... im focused... im focused. Sounds to me like he is just acting.
As for this fight.... i think its the last chance saloon for him, it aint going to be easy against Wallin who is an akward southpaw. AJ will have to go sh*t or bust and go all out aggressive.

In reply to Post #3035 Probably pinning his hopes on Wilder has gone, what is he 43 now, power is the last thing to go. He has more of that than Joshua and faster hands!
To be fair I hope it does happen, it would be a very interesting watch

In reply to Post #3034 oh no matter what the outcome
Im convinced Joshua WILL fight wilder as the ppv sales in the USA will probably break records And restore wilders fearsome reputation when he knocks out AJ
back before AJ got knocked out by Andy he probably had a real good chance but that boats sailed now he is gun shy and scared

In reply to Post #3033 Agree
Imagine if he had the aggression or iron Mike but more importantly could box and move! Dangerous fight that against OW, can’t afford any slip ups there
I wish Parker would win but he is certainly up against it there with the bronze bummer
If the results happen as expected I wonder if Joshua will eventually have the balls to step through the ropes against Wilder, that will be a contest of two hammers and if he wins that, unlikely, he may restore some real credibility setting him up for a Fury fight?

In reply to Post #3032 I think Joshua should go to a hypnotist and get drummed into him you wont be scared of being hit
you wont be scared to commit to actually throw punches like your not scared to death etc
and just hope his corner tells him the truth
I can see Parker getting sparked

Some big heavyweight fights coming up
Wilder vs. Parker
Joshua vs. OW
Dangerous fights for Parker and Joshua for me!
I bet Wilder would love to fight USYK

In reply to Post #3029 Disappointed tbh, I thought in a couple of years time he could have been one of the best boxers to come out of this country for a long time. Seen a few of his fights, leaves himself square open at times and lacks timing if I am being ultra critical, let’s hope he keeps boxing and he certainly should!!! Maybe another trainer takes him to another level
And… Rodriquez can’t make that weight for much longer, when he steps up he will lose

0H wow Peter McGrail was completely dominating and outboxing Ja'Rico O'Quinn who he knocked down twice then in round 5 got caught by a one punch knock out gutted
AND Sunny Edwards got well beaten
