Oh my life thatís just gotta hurt....

Will look up Mark Gross later on and ask my mate if he may have heard of him too.

My son does the weights and on occasions operates the doors at night clubs. Anyhow my son was working one night with his mate Ďwho had the pro licence for kick boxingí and heís as strong as an ox.

Anyhow, it kicks off one night in the club and both of them rush over to see whatís what and in the ensuing melee his mate got hold of this bloke, carried him through the club and out the doors. A few seconds later my lad was knocking on the door to be let back in because heíd also grabbed hold of and kicked him out too...Isanely powerful.

Mark Gross mate. Long time ago now

Know this bloke too, proper loon. This was after the transition from full contact karate into kickboxing, 147 fights, and 141 wins, machine. And you thought Chavez had a record lol

AL

Another one of my mates used to train with him, watch the knock out, kick to the liver, practised that kick solid for around 3 months prior to that fight, landed it perfect 👌

Funnily enough my other mate had his kick boxing licence through, ready to turn pro and then his mother was worried sick about him doing it so heís not taken it up further.

What was his name mate?.

Sorry mate about late reply only just noticed this.

It was a telephone call between just myself, Jeff and my mate Dan.

Jeff said that heíll be happy to take an interview with Dan which when it does come off itíll be on boxing tv that Dan set up and is doing well for himself.

Iíll let you know when the interview will be on....

He was due to interview Thomas Hearns the other month but unfortunately Tommy pulled out for some reason.

Interviewed many big names on his live show ĎTyson Fury too before his world title fightí and long may it continue.

Your description of Jeff being relentless sums him up perfectly.

Edit - Shameless plug but anyone interested in listening to Dans show called boxing tv then itís on both Facebook and YouTube but is trying to plug YouTube more so if folk would are interested then itíd be fantastic if you would subscribe to YouTube. Currently in between series at the moment and awaiting the start of his latest series.

Thanks all. Oh, show is on sundays at 7pm for a couple of hours.

Great interview with Joe Cortez and James Toney a couple of weeks ago.

TOP man Gerry

I wonder if Sky have published a few? Looking at the comments they are quite new?

Wonder if they are finally releasing the old fights, would be an absolutely travesty to let them just disappear

This was a great fight. What Paccy did to Dela Hoya was unreal for me especially with DH reach advantage. Styles make fights. Watch his movement, stepping in, slipping, timing and speed, immense

Who wants a ****ing fight

Paccy vs D Hoya

Destroyed and retired the great Mexican, beat him to a pulp

Two world class fighter there

Speaking to my mate Dan Hewitt last evening we then get onto talking about the best fights weíve ever seen.

Mine was Azumah Nelson v Jeff Fenech 1.

Thought Fenech was robbed myself and so did everyone else too.

Anyway, 1 hour later Dan phones me back with Jeff Fenech on the line and a three way conversation ensued.

Scarily Dan is interviewing Joe Cortez this coming Sunday evening on boxing tv who was the actual referee for that fight back in 1991.

Jeff Fenech spoke about his open heart surgery that he amazingly survived and to make it even more scary my father passed away in 1976 when he himself had trouble with his heart valve but I suppose back then the medical science wasnít available.

What a warrior both inside and outside of the ropes.

Anyone interested in subscribing to my mates boxing tv channel then itís readily available to do so on YouTube and is also available to view on Facebook but Dan is trying to plug the YouTube option as much as possible.

Surreal to say the least.......

Edit - well worth a listen and interviewing some top top fighters both past and present and well worth staying tuned for the quiz at the end too.

Edit. Be speaking to James Toney too amongst others.

Indeed mate....such a shame.

Was fortunate in that 4 days before lockdown he fought for the IBO continental title which fortunately opened the door for him.
