The naked litre bikes don’t do much for me Goose. The Tuono will be based on a test ride if I get one. Mentioned a while ago, I took an S1000r out, was fancying one, lot of violence going on there! to the point I found it uncontrollable and dangerous at higher speeds with the wind blast, really unstable, saying that it was a struggle to keep weight on the front wheel! What was more surprising, my Gixer was just as comfortable, if there is such a thing with a sports bike. The S1000r had set back pegs and the position makes you sit forward, lot of weight on the wrists

Can’t speak for the street fighter, hell of a bike though if you like that kind of thing. I guess the multistrada is a lot of a weapon too

Saying that, adventure bikes are definitely not my cup of tea

I've owned most of the litre plus sports bikes including the rsv factory and won't have any more but I am tempted by the streetfighter v4s even thought the multistrada v4s would be better as I do a lot of touring but the valve recall is not what I wanted to hear on a 23k bike.

Fully agree mate, out and out full blown track weapons. If you look at the Aprillia RS660 this is the bike everybody is raving about at the moment, Yamaha will release and R7 soon, twin, and very similar by the sounds of it. Could be the death of full blow litre bikes sadly, technology has designed them out of the market

Still saying that, my 2018 plate Gixer was a joy to ride, VVT, would pull away at 30mph in 6th, no problem. Certainly couldn’t pin the throttle. When the TT is back think I am going to have one last bike, Aprillia Tuono or the full blow RSV factory, best sounding engine in the world for me

V4s panigale is a licence loosing jail time beast on the road, same with all the litre plus sports bikes and the super nakeds are becoming the same. The enjoyment from any performance bike or car come from using its full potential but when you have a bike that only comes to life at way over the national speed limit the only place to really enjoy it is on track. Many of the professional road testers are saying the middleweight machines are now a lot more fun on the road.

I was thinking about buying either an NSR400 or an old supersport as a bit of a project bike for winter, for some reason I used to love the look of the SS, or even a 748S in red or yellow would do

I have the new SuperSport S, absolutely superb bike for the road, keep up with anything unless it’s long straights. 150mph top end, fast enough for anybody. A LOT less Ming Ming than my GSXR at 13,000 rpm

The V4 is a work of art and as you say, claimed easy to ride although I have not had the chance, yet

I like the look of the 959 and nearly bought one at one point, I also think the new V2 would be a cracking weekend thrash bike or the odd track day, lot less too £

I've always loved them and would have loved a 900ss back in the mid seventies but was a poor apprentice. As great as modern bikes are the top line sports bikes are track day tools and too much for our congested potholed roads. Ducati have realised this as the latest panigale is far more user friendly and easier to ride than the 2019 model. Even the new streetfighter is not what many were expecting and is as user friendly as any 200+ hp naked can be, will be testing one when things get back to normal.

Was the opposite and a big foggy fan, so much so I sold my blade for a 916 and even though it was a long way down on then mates jap sports bikes it was a faster road bike.

I read up on this after Batista and then Readings straight line speed on the new Ducati V4 in WSB. Pulling over 5 or 6 bike lengths passed the opposition on the straights, mental! Quite a few reasons

The MotoGP Ducati and the Honda, surprisingly to some? are running V4s, 90 degree ones! because of this the bikes are virtually built around the engine, Ducati’s have been for a long time, the frame bolts to the engine block. Because of the angle they end up with a longer bike, this in turn effects the geometry’s meaning, usually the inline fours are shorter, turn faster and better in the corners. The longer bikes with the V4 have less crankshaft deflection, it is shorter, has less deflection and less bearings, resistance than an inline 4 and lay the power down exceptionally well!

I was never a massive Forgarty fan, the ex king and god of WSB, one because he was riding a Ducati and two I always thought it was like cheating with torque and how they laid the power down

Heard that too, Apparently they were trying to cut down the deg on the rear tyres.
Great start to the season in all 3 classes

Good race, rumour was ducati had reigned them in a little to improve rideability.

Well done Sam Lowes, great start to the season, world champ would be nice

Saying that, his bikes paint job is horrible, burgundy!

Fantastic ride by MV, looks like FQ has caused a bit of competition. Really disappointed for Mir, another brilliant ride. Those Ducati’s in a straight line are untouchable. Same in WSB last year, gaining 3 - 5 bike lengths on the straight, x that by 20 laps!

Yea been following, don't believe rossi's bike is the full fat animal of the factory team but easier to ride and still quick enough to beat less gifted riders.
