Hi Mate,

The spot inline with the pylon to the right was great advice thanks!!

We fished 3 nights on Kingfisher and had a 28, 48, 38, 37 and 26 which was not bad considering you boys caught every fish in the lake the previous week

After 3 nights the trains started to affect me because we were getting takes in the night so we all decided a move to Attila was best.

I fished peg 3 and the other two fished peg 4 as there was a nice SW banging down there. Within 1 hour of getting the baits out in peg 3 i had landed 3 three thirties, 37,37.5 and 36. Had to use my waders to land them though which was fun! Peg 4 took a little bit more time to come on but when it did WOW! My mate had about 400lb worth of carp in 48 hours. As he was bringing in his last rod he was greeted with a lovely 45lb mirror. (lucky git)

Great complex. Considering the winter ticket.

Thanks again for the advice.

Steve.

Stephen,

I take it you were the lads that moved in behind us?
If so did those spots produce.

Sorry fella, I was THERE when u asked the question, wasn't being rude!

Looks like the others have covered it, Abbey's owners feel it is fairer to operate a first come, first served basis on the swims instead of the lottery of a draw, so rock up at 6am (ish), have a swift wander around on foot (u won't be able to drive round until u are checked in at 8am) and see what's occuring and then form an orderly queue at the Clubhouse to get booked in asap when the doors open!
Hans the Bailiff should help u with any further info u require and I'll be back in residence from jan 2013 as Media and Marketing Manager so u should find me lazing around on the bank somewhere should u need an English take on all things Abbey?!

Kind regards,

Ru

No draw for swims mate. You are spoilt for choice with all the lakes though tbh!

Just turn up on the day you have booked and have a look what is free. We were lucky when we went couple of weeks ago as the whole complex was booked for the Forces Carp Classic which gave us the whole complex to choose from at the end of the event!.

We just spoke to the anglers that were fishing who were all very helpful!

We ended up on Kingfisher which is a mega lake for the carp, apart from the 190 mile trains 100ft behind you !

It has been a while since I went but you turn up, check in at the lodge then find a swim. Unlike most French lakes I have fished, people come and go at different times, rather than 10 am on the Saturday

Is there a draw for swims or is it a case of turn up and pick what you fancy from what is available or do you have to pre-book a swim ?

Now now Tom,

You know the rules for the FCC.... No cheating or swotting up beforehand, just get there, get on n deal with the draw LOL!!

Top end of Heron has been producing a fair few recently but once again you're following the Swedes and they're rinsing Heron I think?!

White Tips came from 12 along with a load more fish last week. Marshy (Rob not Russ ) had bagged a few from 11 this week but has now moved to pastures new and Anders (the Swedish booking agent) bagged the 'Unknown' mirror at 57+ from 9-11 ish (didn't look at the pics properly!)

Been very mild but WET the past 7 days so don't over feed them as they're not ready yet!

Regards,

R
