Recognized the question but just thought I'd cover the ground again. We accept both mate, so whatever suits you? Just be aware that any euros leftover at the end of your trip won't be worth a rub when you get home!!!!

Hi mate,
That's not a recommendation for usage, just an 'allowance' lol.. By all means bring less as we can always replace it if you need but I always err on the side of caution when prepping for a trip abroad and would rather go in with too much rather than not enough.. Wouldn't go shopping (or to Spearmint Rhino) with a fiver, would you?
If they're in a friendly mood, I can assure you that it'll probably be nearer 3kg per rod, per day!
The lake is ALMOST devoid of weed, so having a lead around, etc.. Is fine and it certainly won't spook the fish as one of WildBoar's most popular summer methods is to use the 'SpodiCopter' a Dutch method entailing a spod and a 2-3' hooklink dangling beneath it, this relies entirely on attracting fish into the area with the noise (and to a lesser extent obviously, the food) as it's recast every 5 or so minutes!
As for the Crays, NO.... Not that we're aware of (yet) anyway

Hi guys, 3 of us are doing a long weekend on Wild Boar at the end of September and any advice anyone can give us would be great as its our first time there! I've read through the previous threads on here and see that Ru recommends 1kg per rod per day. Can anyone help in terms of whether method feeding works on Wild Boar and will firing out groundbait balls work or do you need to be spodding a bed of bait out there and fishing over it? Also, as its a prety much weed free lake, can I get away with having a lead around and casting to showing fish/likely spots or is a marker rod needed? Finally, are there any crayfish in Wildboar to worry about? Thank you!

Kingfisher is flying mate,
Iain Macmillan is over for a 4 dayer and his mate, Lloyd, is 11-0 up after a day and a bit!!
Fox is fishing pretty well too, Ian Russell is over with Terry Hearn's dad and a couple of other friends and they've had a fair few now, Ian's on 6, Terry's dad has had 5 inc. a couple of lovely 40's, Stacey and Matt have chipped in with some 20's and upper 30's!
A good mate of mine is here as well and although he's not caught yet, his Partner has bagged a couple of nice 20's!
The Heron party had a tough week in the end, the 8 of them only managed to bank 7 fish, with the biggest going 50lb+ but 2 of them rustled up 7 from their last night by switching to Attila!

Devastated, fella.. I'll happily argue until I'm blue in the face that Bruno was without question one of the most iconic fish of ALL time!
As previously stated, there have been others that are bigger, MUCH bigger even, scalier and a smidge darker BUT I have never seen a fish with his qualities at that size. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it was absolutely scale perfect and even after he received the scar, I think that just gave the fish a little character and didn't detract from it one bit..
I'll leave it there for fear of sounding like an oddbod who was fixated by a carp but it's safe to say that although his place in the ranks will be filled in the near future by one or two others (White Tips is now on a par, weight wise and the Unknown is rapidly taking on Bruno's legendary colouration), he's already etched his name into Abbey folklore and the staff here are crestfallen by what's happened, especially as it was a bolt from the blue!
Hope no one on here has taken offence to my little send off I gave him on FB, I wasn't trying to glorify the fish in anyway or put him up as some sort of carpy martyr but both Seb and I felt it was only right that we released the news asap and gave everyone the heads up on what had occured.... I can think of others that wouldn't have.. For various reasons!!
Many thanks for all the kind messages I've received too, touched as well by the number of people that thought it was fitting I was the last person to bank the fish.
So, to an incredible beast.. RIP mon ami!
