The new Solar bedchair folds closer to the foot end so no need for 8 legs .Good luck with the Avid, everything I've had of theirs has fallen to bits within months

Yes, sorry the system is a bit pricey.
Never seen the need for 8 legs on a bed, just don't sit on the foot end 😁

I can't see a Solar sleep system for that sort of money. It's a sleep system I have purchased

Looking at the Solar site they seem to have:
SP 3D Dura-Dore Sleep System Wide - RRP 499.99
- only 2 legs (4 feet). What is this, the 1990's
- no memory foam

SP C-Tech Memory Foam Sleep System MKII Wide - RRP £705.99
- only 3 legs (6 feet).

The Avid has 4 legs (8 feet)

All the Avid gear I have used has been good, well designed.
The Korum stuff (their coarse/specimen brand) can often be a tad 'fisher price' looking with big chunky designs and not great build quality.

I may do a review when it arrives, which will hopefully be tomorrow.

I also ordered the heat blanket, which I found new on eBay for £55.
The Nash one (which doesn't even fit all their beds due to the elastic toggles being outside of the zip!) was roughly £100 when I got that....and sent it back once I realised it only fitted the LATEST beds

Best bargains.

When shopping for expensive items at angling direct in store always check the website price.

They have a system where they under price items out of stock on the Web. This the entices you in and as they are out of stock they hope you search other items.

So when instore they may have stock at the normal Web price. So ask if they can match a Web price. They will then either say no or ask the price. But will come back with a best they can do price.

Then point out the price you have is from the AD site.

Got a set of sonic alarms shop price £150 for £120.

Then a set of aircurves £240 at the time was the best price anywhere . I paid £189 each for mine.

Isn't the new Solar bed a far better bed for similar money? £389 before the haggle.

Avid gear gets a bad press.

I've been looking to get a new bed to replace my Nashy SS3. (The hinges on the SS3 stick up, they are two little sheets of rounded metal and the dig in the back of my legs)

So started looking at the AVID beds...not sure if TFT's website detects what I like and am considering buying because today (few days later) I get an email with AVID bed discounted!?

Avid - Benchmark Ultra X System
RRP £499.99 (fair enough, take that with a pinch of salt)
Save 14% knocks it down to £429.99

Then the email gives me code XTRA20 and so badda-bing...
Discount £86
Total price, for the X (wide) model .... £343.99

Have I been done, or is this a decent deal?

I paid £12 last November to join the 'XTRA' subscription as I wanted free next day delivery on purchases I had made...you know what it's like sometimes...you just need a little £10 or £15 item and you don't want to pay postage....
So I am not sure if that code will only work for XTRA members or if it works for anyone

(It's not all items, I think it's just the ones with the red 'SALE' wording next to them)

Indeed, always great service. Might be getting my wires crossed here but wasn't it a Ebay shop of a actual angling shop? If so I wonder if it's gone too.
