I personally don't think 75kg is a lot if you are on the fish, done 20kg in a 48 hr session over here lol

I fish Heron july/august for the last couple of years and i mainly use boilies.
I add some pellet and hemp as well but wouldn't bother about any other small food.
I've had some good results as well using this method by the way.

Food wise you can order whatever you want on a daily basis.

Have to add that the old bailiff Rupert (love him) his left recently, but i spoke to the owners during the Zwolle show a few weeks back and it seems that not much will change regarding running the complex on a daily basis.

UPDATE POST 580:

After a few e-mails to Abbey on Friday with regards to the new rule they are trying to put in place for this year they have now lifted the "not allowed to bring your own particle rule" until the start of 2016, so Happy days...

I stated its not on the web-site or in the Rule list, But apparently is was supposed to have been added to the website and rule list last year but was missed, going forward they will be reducing the price on particle but not by much !!
According to the e-mail I received they want to stop people bringing particle onto the complex
"to guarantee the quality of water and health of our fish,All our particles are fresh made and frozen straight away in order to keep all the nutrition and flavours"

So if you are booked on for 2016 be aware

Will it be the bucket of water in your face that you'll miss when your holding one !!!
In my humble opinion that is as stupid as it gets, and won't be missed.
And no, I haven't had a sense of humor bypass either before anyone says it.

I am relieved you can still take your own particles, I take hemp dry and cook it as I need it. Do the same in this country. Also take sweetcorn in tins as it stays fresh and you can open it as you need it. I am there in May and probably wont bother with boilie or pellet on Fox. Caught most fish last year on hemp n corn. Might take some maggot this year though

I went on Heron for 4 nights early august last summer.
I decided to take 20kg of boilies and 20kg of pellets (all Baitworks KingFish) and no particles what so ever.
Even though the lake was fishing very slow, i had 6 fish in 4 nights (up to low 40s) and was the only angler who caught fish together with Ian Russel.

I met the new bailiff last weekend in Zwolle by the way.
Seems like a nice bloke.
It will be hard to fill Rupert's boots though!
I absolutely loved the bloke and i'm still in doubt wether to go back to Abbey or not.

Be daft if they ban it. The rules on there are just the right balance at the minute, no need to change any of them.

The fish I had out there were immaculate so the rig rules seem to work, no one took the piss with the bait boats bar one bloke but nothing too bad. The atmosphere was quite relaxed ie no spying on you every 5 minutes- the way it should be.

If you're going to ban particle because of safety then just put a particle checking policy in place first. If for commercial gain then fair play but make them at least affordable when you get out there.

Where did you see the rule about not being allowed to take your own particles mate ?
I cannot find it on the website.

Update : from Abbey lakes via FB.
You can still take your own particles , this will be looked into this year
Thanks
