That's just more of our biased media coverage in my honest opinion Clicky. Everyone else is bad, we are still Great Britain. That's what they portray. Before I went to Brazil for the first time I was slightly worried because of our media coverage. The reality is so different it defies belief. Yes if you go to the favelas in Sao Paulo or Rio you can find trouble. In the same way if you go visit Brixton or Peckham as a tourist you will find trouble. But in general terms, it's much safer than the UK. Crime in the UK is now glamorised by the masses. Stealing has become more normalised. Over there is carries far greater shame. There are very few firearms like here. But the police walk about with great big shooters. The police are greatly respected there. Like they used to be here. Old people are greatly respected there. Like they used to be here. Children still get a clip round the ear hole there. Without fear of the parents being locked up. Young people have far greater respect because of it. Just like it used to be here. Political correctness has killed us. We have a younger generation now in many parts of the UK with zero respect, but the greatest sense of entitlement.

It's these type of smaller things that are leading to our nation becoming a wild place. The comments I receive about the UK are always about this sharp decline in general morals. That's not because of the British people, but due to the complete break down of our identity. We can't say anything, about anything anymore. Not without being deemed a racist. To hear that Filipino woman speak so openly about the UK's problems was refreshing. She just spoke how it is. When she comes to London she now meets very few white English speaking people. We are not allowed to do that anymore. We will get locked up for saying stuff like that.

It started with that political correctness, now we are set down some path where we got to where we are today. Everything is now about minorities. The sense of entitlement that has created is shocking. If we are all honest, the Tories became like Labour, and Labour became like the tories. It's a very British trait to defend our country, I'm very proud to be British. But if we can't even look at what is really causing the problems, how do they ever get fixed.

The Reform party is not the answer either Framey I agree. We just need more choice in our politics. We just need to be honest about what is causing the sharp decline in our way of life. If we can't do that, nothings going to change and it's only going to get worse. If you look at what our governments have done over the last 20 years, they sold off everything we had. Our energy companies are all foreign owned. They sold all our gold for buttons. The Dartford crossing is foreign owned. Key transport and energy in control of other nations. These things were built with tax payers money, then sold off. Would this have happened fifty years ago? Of course not. Our media pushes that we are still great, yet we don't seem to own much here anymore. That's the stuff that never gets openly spoken about. Because it's our governments who have done the dirty on us. We are now in a situation where most young people in the UK will never own their own home. This is fundamental to society, to the family structure. This stuff is not happening in other countries from what I see, just here.

Do we need change ? yes
Are reform the answer??
Highly unlikely
all I ever hear from that side of the camp is stop the boats as if that will change everything.
However,
I don't think any there are many other countries that are doing much better than us.

These threads always become left v right, Labour v Conservatives.

All the while we only have two parties that can feasibly win, there will never be any change. They are all as **** as each other.

I had the most incredible conversation with an older Filipino woman in our hotel lobby. Her dog had a Barbour coat on with a Union Jack hanging off it, which started the conversation. She has a half British daughter who lives and works in the city of London. Her daughter pays a fortune in tax, yet her mother has great difficulties staying in the UK now. She has been visiting twice a year for the past twenty years. She was very forthright with her views on our country, and I made her 100% right. She commented how it is now very rare to see white English people when she visits the UK (London). She said this has changed so much over the past ten years. She commented how we were so respected world wide a decade ago, but not anymore. She said political correctness and the crazy liberal views on everything now that is destroying our country and our identity. She commented that it's incredibly sad what is happening to the UK.

She finished by saying that the UK is no longer a viable option to bring up children in her opinion. This was all from a 60-65 year old Filipino woman in the lobby of a 5 star hotel in Manila.

I agreed with everything she said. I hear the same about us when I am in Brazil.

When I was in Brazil at Christmas, it was all over the news out there daily about the savage that virtually beheaded those young girls in Stockport. He was referred to at all times as terrorist scum. When I flew back to the UK, our news channels were pretty much making excuses for him.

We have lost our way so badly.

All I can say is a mate of mine told me that given time Labour will be better.
Ok they've only been in power 7 months and in that time I don't expect them to perform miracles but I thought they could at least steady the ship.

I suppose you want me to list all things so you can pick them apart one by one, but I'm not going to, we've all been here before and it usually ends up with someone being banned or someone gets the hump and leaves the forum.

Just for the record I want the present government to do well but in my opinion things are getting worse and I can't see any signs of improvement in the long term.
Let's hope I'm wrong.

Labour do a worse job of getting it wrong..... OK.

Lesser of 2 evils? 14 years of ****servatives have driven the UK into the ground. Nothing works and it's on them.

Both parties are against proportional representation. Fartarse wasn't- until the last election. But he's changed his mind now as he's sniffing Reform could do well out of the current system.

Point about Corbybin, kinda misses the point that Labour were elected democratically, although I agree the size of the majority doesn't tell the whole story

We are poorer as a country and the real elites like Johnson, Fartarse, Lice, Trump and Musk have somehow persuaded a significant majority they're on YOUR side while making themselves and their chums richer and the world a much less safer place.

They are all to blame, they all lie to get or retain power.
The reason Labour don't get in often is they do a worse job of getting it wrong than the Tories.
So it's a case of the lesser of two evils.
The two tier voting system doesn't allow anyone else to get a look in.
Labour has a massive majority but got less votes than Corbyn

There hasn't been anything like a left wing government in this country since the 1960"s and that was centre left. Blair and Starmer are tories with red ties. And consider this. I'm 62 which means that from being 16 years of age I've had ****servative/coalition government's for the majority of that time. Which in turn means a Labour government has been in power for 13 and a half years out of 46. So, tories have been in power for about 70% of that time. Tell me then, who really is to blame for the state the country is in???

Have to say, magnificent speech that resonated with a LOT of people. He is right, everybody is sick to the back ****ing teeth of it

Some balls for that

It's only the woke that won't like the truth, they like to try and shut everyone down expect fellow believers

It's simple, it is not acceptable. And after all of the riots linked to Southport, which I didn't agree with but I can understand why, the suspect was exactly what people were told initially before they tried to sweep it under the carpet as usual, disgraceful.

I'm frum Yorkshire, say it how it is lad or don't ****ing bother

Seriously though, freedom of speech, he is right
