Aside from singing the burning ring of fire the morning after eating a Sri lankan, I can't say I like Johnny cash much. That song is incredible though, and that is my favourite version. I saw one recently with David bowie joining nine inch nails on stage 
I remember seeing a few lads playing on the south bank, they did a reggae version of it that bought half the gathering crowd to tears. The guy singing was falling to pieces with all that emotion coming through his voice.
I did try to record it but I got more audio of the crowd than the band, I really wished I had a decent mic for the camera
Can we talk about great guitarists without mentioning hendrix?

you need some balls to cover a Nine Inch Nails track. First saw this in a documentary about the original man in black which aired not long after his death.
Big emotional connection to this man (my dad loved him) and to this song (long story)

The theme tune was brilliant and spawned a mini LP called the Star Fleet Project by Brian May + Friends. One of whom was Eddie Van Halen...
