In reply to Post #1 I have used Lots of the products listed there. Hirisi is a decent brand for terminal tackle. Some of the hooks they Produce are a bit thicker but for this price you can file them as much as youd like. For plastic bits I don't find any difference between them and named Brands.

In reply to Post #42 How dare you buy small bits of end tackle from ali express 😂
Whilst there's plenty I'd be happy to use from Temu etc, i must admit, I'm not sure id risk electrical. Mainly from a warranty perspective.
Hooks, I have no issue with. Whether they're exactly the same or not, we can't complain of quality/reliability just because its not a big brand. The amount of stick Korda have got over the years for hooks breaking proves that.

In reply to Post #37 Same in the early days of AliExpress, Fast-tech, etc, lots of cloned products that were short on quality.
I have bought a few small items of end tackle on AliExpress, at those prices and quantities I'm not complaining about hooklink tails, tungsten beads and rig rings
Still wouldn't buy the hooks.. because they are exactly the same..😉

In reply to Post #25 "I understand the points about innovation, product developments ect. But, if you get China to manufacture for you, you know what the outcome is. You know they’ll just produce extra and sell it themselves. The companies manufacturing their own products aren’t on temu are they… that would create more jobs if firms started doing that! Costs would have to go up in all likelihood though."
Exactly this 🖕. I really wish more companies would manufacture in the UK. Trust me it's tough and expensive to do so, you really need to accept lower margins on your products just to be seen as having 'ridiculous' prices but keeping the prices at a level where we have enough customers that are willing to pay for quality UK made goods. None of the big companies would get out of bed for the margins we work with but then I remember hearing that one company that shall remain unnamed worked on a 10% returns due to faulty goods. You'd need higher margins in that scenario. It's always been difficult for manufacturing in the UK with wages, high taxes, extremely high energy costs etc etc, and this current government wants to squeeze manufacturing just a little more. But all us UK manufacturing companies live in hope that one day the government will realise our importance and help us become competitive again.
As for the Temu thing, it is most definitely a direct result of the big brands being so dependent on China to do all their manufacturing. It made financial sense because the manufacturing cost was/is so low but now it will start to bite them more and more.

In the UK, any mark up on carp fishing tackle is the least of our worries.

In reply to Post #37 I have heard the same, but whilst they look identical, the products are not actually quite the same, just a copied version. FairPlay to this guy Craig, for turning his life round, and he seems to be very honest in discussing his past, fair play for that. It must be considered, though, that this type of trading also cuts out the tackle shops. It’s hard enough out there for them at the moment without further pressure.

Lots of products get copied in China but the problem is quality control.
A few years ago there were fake fox rx plus’s.
A colleague and I opened them up to find the electronics used were inferior, no conformal coating on the PCB against damp / moisture.
All the semiconductor components were Chinese brands no European / US semiconductor manufacturers which is what they use.
So whilst you can buy products which claim to be from the same factory they really are not imho.

Seems like this guy’s desperate for one reasons or another
Maybe he gets commission for every item he sells through the links on his site

In reply to Post #32 Fair enough, not your cup of tea, fine.
I don't like everyone i see either. We're all different.
What i do do though is at least try to understand something before questioning it openly, and then when someone tries to help me understand, not completely write it off.
Would make people wonder why i bothered in the first place if i actually wasn't interested.
Again, we're all different 👍
