Hi jumping on this after recently selling my delkim txi-d v1’s. I’m after a set of RX’s, does anyone know the best deal around for purchasing new 🤔. Cheers!

In reply to Post #44 Weirdly, I left it on the night mode setting (switch pointing all the way down). It then started working, as in, when the roller wheel moved it signalled, but no night light was showing.

In reply to Post #1 I have the RX+ for a few years. Great alarms, although, one of them has randomly decided not to turn on, even after a new set of batteries. The other two are fine. I used them only a few days prior, no issues. Now one of them seems completely dead. Weird!

I've always found delks work better with a bit more weight on the bobbin, i missed a couple of slow takes when I first got them using the 6g slapheads. Had no issues since switching to nightlites with plenty of weight on them.

In reply to Post #38 In theory it should make them more sensitive but in reality on slow takes it doesn't as many have reported they have seen bobbins drop back down slowly without a single beep. Yet that movement on a roller will and does beep.
It wasn't set up, sensitivity or rig because if the bobbin is lifting or dropping it isn't the rig and then to put it simply the alarm should beep but they can fail on a slow lift or drop and do fail.
I bought the mark 1's when they were first released to replace my delkim conversions thinking they would be an improvement i soon found flaws in them.
I haven't tried on the newer designs but on the mk1's and txi's there hasn't been a set that i haven't been able to pull line through and lift a bobbin without it registering on the delkim but it always registers on a roller alarm

I’ve fished with delkims since the 90s
Delks don’t inherently “miss” slow takes—what you’re seeing is usually setup, sensitivity, or line/rig behaviour rather than the alarm being unable to register bites.
Being vibro rather than roller means they detect movement in the line via tension changes on the rod tip rather than line being pulled through a wheel. In theory, that actually makes them more sensitive to slow, steady movement—if they’re set up right.

In reply to Post #36 Vibro should be more sensitive and the amount of false beeps people have with delks would generally concur with this but the amount of slow takes forward and back that delkims dont register on that i have seen countless times would disagree
I gave up on the vibro delks over 25 years ago because of the delkim issue with slow takes and switched to the fox rx which i still use to this day.
The only times i think the vibro delks (i refer to them as vibro as i used to use the delkim optonic conversions) are better than my rx's are when fishing with an open bail arm when pike fishing
The other occasion was in some freak weather in france when heavy rain changed to a heavy frost the roller wheels on the delkim conversions froze but there wasn't an issue with the mk1 vibro delks

In reply to Post #33 Vibro is always going to be more sensitive than roller and may equate to more fish on the bank.
Though the trade off - is more false bleeps which many anglers struggle to find a happy medium - you have to pay a lot more attention to set up than rollers so for the average angler who just wants to get fishing without the hassle they make sense.
Canals are typically a moving water so yes more challenging.

In reply to Post #26 On a canal where I fish, there is heavy boat traffic and a lot of weed that accumulates in the lines. I read that Delkims are less suitable for this because the vibration system is sensitive to it and causes many more false bites than for example RX+ is, ,o idea if this is correct?
The Nash R4 is apparently supposed to be the best for this (Wave Sensing),
I am satisfied with the Mini micron X, but the upgrade virus has strike again need an extra bite alarm for the 4th line, (my son is now also fishing) so either buy an extra mini micron X or upgrade the complete set...
