I've worked on imports for a tooling company and this is how stupid the laws are.

A forged taper shank drill imported from India but has no point on it but otherwise all made in India.

Bring it into the UK put it on a grinder and it now has a point and can be sold as quality made British tooling.

So putting a union jack on an item means nothing and it's not illegal if the product isn't the finished article when it arrives in the UK.

My understanding is that the only things that Korda produce in the UK are leads, PVA, and the things from JAG (and possibly Carp Porter).

But at least they never covered their gear in Union Jacks and pretended it was made here!

Nice to see someone that thinks the same. Korda, nash and Fox make nothing all branded for them by the Chinese. Shimano and Diawa make there own top end but the low end is Chinese and branded.

If only those that say don't buy cheap Chinese ***** only knew the truth.

I thought that mono is made all around the world? Germany, Japan & USA in particular, I would expect to be high quality. The vast majority of our tackle is manufactured in China though, & China is more than capable of producing very high end products, as well as low end crap - you get what you pay for, or what Korda (or whoever) pays for..

I haven't used Kaizen mono but going by Korda's past record I'd expect it to be excellent.

If it's a good product, then I don't really care where it's made TBH.

I'm sure I read somewhere a while ago that there were only three companies in the world that actually produce nylon monofilament line.
Not sure if that's still true, but angling is a way smaller market worldwide than most people realise.

Has anyone ever seen the Korda factory where they make the rods, hooks, bivvies, plastic terminal tackle, multiple other items and now line and bite alarms? If so it must be ****ing huge covering acres and acres of prime real estate.

No course you haven’t.

Korda have not produced anything themselves since Danny was knocking out leads in his kitchen.

This line - good or bad is manufactured at arms length in China. It at best has been made to spec, at middling as been tweaked from something else, at worst is the same as other lines produced by a plastics factory also churning out garden furniture.

If it’s the first instance that it’s all new, singing and dancing it will go the way of other products - hellishly expensive to pay for the in the main media advertising campaign, until the Chinese factory produces the same line after the exclusivity agreement, or more likely, another company ‘accidently’ start producing the same stuff at a cheaper price until they get the market share then increase the price.

If it’s good then use it until the next big thing comes along, only to be undercut by a clone, but don’t get caught up in the hype.

Ill soak it for an hour before spooling up. When on the bank last cast por some on before winding in the again once wound in.

Used to use it on 2.5lb and 3 and 4lb line when match fishing.

Weak solution of water and washing up liquid on new line takes away the oils from production. Always poor some on at the end of a session to clean the line. It then cuts through the surface tension so much easier.
