So the base mix put together by the members of the HMBB is not available from BAF or AA baits they have both changed the recipe, Both are out of stock for sale to their customers of some of the straight ingredients needed to make the bait.

AA Baits have their own variant(s) now, not absolutely identical - Squid rather than Krill and few different spices/enhancers.

I was given a few kilo of the QB stuff when it was launched.
Had a fidh in the first 20 minutes so very confident with it.

I only switched over from BAF as i have 2 x 10 kg sacks of base mix that made floaters.

Apparently caused by using an alternative krill.

The reason QualityBaits first started making the Trop was because BAF could not make the base mix ,with out the resultant boilies all being rather poor pop-ups ,but they were all floaters ,Krill is not mentioned in BAF's list of ingredients , and hasn't been for sometime.
Been told that all purchasers of the Trop are being given a sample pack of an extremely simple to make Pop-Up mix all you need to add is a colour and a flavour takes a couple of minutes to mix and can be boiled ,steamed or even Microwaved.

Another option would be the get the origional recipe and put together ones self.

A bit more work but at least you know whats in it.

So just to be clear the only company selling the True Original mix which includes Krill (one of THE best ingredients to put in a bait ) and all the ingredients at stated the stated amounts is Quality Baits.

If you're removing eggs from your liquid mix just add around 10g of whole egg powder ( or a little less of egg white powder ) for each egg removed. This will compensate for any reduction in binding / gelling. I now actually only use powdered egg now as it enables me to incorporate various wet foods into my mix. Mussels, prawns, fish, liver etc. The world's your oyster ( they might be a bit pricey though ! )

Quite old school and many say it works well doing this. Never tried it myself but give it a go. I think the trop will bind/roll/boil OK with around 100ml of that in it.

One thing to consider is they will go off quite quickly with real squid liquid in them. Nothing a freezer can't fix but don't expect them to last much more than a couple of days out the freezer based on what other have said before.

Thinking about adding some liquidised squid into my mix and dropping all the other liquids apart from salmon oil and a very low level flavour.

I was planning to wizz a couple of squid up and subtract the same amount from my egg? Does this sound ok? Probably 100mls which should still give me 6 eggs in the mix, will that be enough to bind it?

brand new bottle going straight in bin
Don't do that, sell it - and put the money towards your next Trop base mix order.
JB'S ALA SALAR is TOOO Good to bin for those of us that like to roll it

I had amazing success on the trop with ala salar and plum from JB. Still the flavour combo I go back to. I wouldn't chuck it. Just mix it outside
