Padded rods bags and sleeves don’t make any sense really. Lightweight nylon will protect from scratches and snagging on bushes on trees, but any extra padding isn’t really going to cushion any hard knocks to rings etc. Hard cases will but 5mm padding isn’t going to do anything.

In reply to Post #10 The current Aqua ones that are available are the padded version. They used to do a lightweight unpadded version as well.

You have a choice but to call it a pee take is a bit strong. You say it's expensive, but why, because you're used to Chinese prices. Is £40 really that much in actual fact.
How long do we think it takes to cut out and sew up...a hour maybe and NOTE by a time served seamstress who won't be on min wage, hopefully, and rightly so. Then add in materials, machinery, building, future R&D, do you reckon you could make it for less than £20?
And if you do, is it unreasonable to want 100% RRP more than production costs, not forgetting taxes.
CA aren't playing on a level playing field and they shouldn't try to compete with China
Min wage: -78% China vs United Kingdom Avg. salary: -65% China vs United Kingdom
If only the government had the balls....ho hum.

In reply to Post #5 Do cotswold do anything thats inexpensive!
But £40 for a single nylon sleeve is a piss take, I'm going to wait for the Temu one 😎
Having said that, I've just bought three thinking anglers 3/4 sleeves off ebay for £40 including postage.
For many years I have used a quiver with no sleeves and never had any issues with ring damage.
I have acquired some 13ft aviators and they have the stand off K series fuji guides and they look like they will be more easily bumped when loading the car, especially if we travel two up, its a tight squeeze in the mondeo estate...

In reply to Post #1 Cotswold Aq used to do some lightweight nylon 3/4 sleeves - ideal to stop catching rings/line in trees and undergrowth . . .
Just done a search - they still do - CA Lightweight sleeve
Bl**dy hell they're expensive - might dig out my og ones and sell 'em!

In reply to Post #1 I think these are only lightly padded. Give them a call to double check:
LINKY POO™ https://johnsonrosstackle.co.uk/thinking-anglers-olive/20860-thinking-anglers-extendable-single-rod-sleeve.html
The only lightweight unpadded nylon sleeves I can remember are the Aqua Products ones. I have a set and they’re spot on. You’ll probably only find a set on eBay nowadays but they’re pretty rare.
The alternative is to make some. It’s literally one folded piece of material and a small piece of material to create the reel pouch. If you cut the material out a machinist will be able to sew one together in 5 minutes.

Of it single sleeves your after I'm sure ESP used to do nylon light weight sleeves. Pull ties below the reel with elastic butt sleeves.😀
