If you don't put it in the right place. It may as well be in a tub on the mantlepiece. Some muppets think money can buy experience better off spending time on the bank. Watching what the people who catch regularly are doing. Discretely of course, unless you really want a flat nose.

20p hook-length
Β£1 all the extra nonsense bits.
Β£2 leadcore/leader length.
Fuming when that lot goes straight in the tree from the cast. πππ‘π
Hopefully the market will decide and some sense will prevail.

A bit like saying thereβs robin red in these wonder baits you could have 100kg of dry mix and then add a table spoon of RR does that now mean every single bait has a decent amount RR in it ?
I would pay these ridiculous prices too old hat for all this nonsense

Just seen a small video Jim Rawcliffe put up talking about these pop ups. He reckons he was constantly being asked to bring them back out again. He went onto mention that they wouldn't be cheap due to the time and effort to produce and the cost of the ingredients.
I thought. OK.. another Β£20 pot of hookbaits. Plenty out there charging that.. I nearly hit the floor when I searched them out on Ebay. A few quid short of Β£60 a pot.. What's in them, gold dust.. he mentioned one of the ingredients has a habit of lingering for days. I'm thinking Fenugreek, could be wrong. Is it an expensive ingredient, I don't know.

I'm afraid people will though!
Like everything in carpfishing it has been exploited to death and people are trying to make a living from it, that's where its all gone wrong. . Don't get me wrong there is a natural progression where someone makes a special bait with expensive ingredients in it, then there is obviously quite a bit more cost involved than a pop up mix with a few flavors in it commercially rolled.
What we can all see with bait over the years is that it comes in trends, generally targeted at the sheep. Good quality brands that catch fish hang around for a reason, they catch fish, others just come and go in cycles.
Bait ingredients have risen and risen but when you look at the cost of say 5kg of bottom baits which will be filled with half decent ingredients, nothing has escalated like the pop up, minimal input and maximum output. You are not messing around rolling tons of food source baits at a cost either. The flip side, anyone can jump on the bandwagon and try to charge a premium, that's what's happening sadly, and that's what wrong, spanking anglers again for their own greed, it also leaves the flood gates open for people to charge what they want regardless of the product quality or effectiveness, the only filter is the users and results where the vast majority will no doubt find the bin after a few sessions.
The good news, if they are inferior they will soon be out of business so you could say its a vicious circle, here today, gone tomorrow, simple for me, don't buy them. Ultimately the concluding factor is how much you are really willing to pay.

Yes they are, there is a pot of stoglemans hard hookbaits sat at Β£91 on eBay at the moment and just seen 4 pots of his hookbaits sell for Β£150. Crazy
