never submerged anything overnight or for extended periods before spooling, just stick it in a bucket at the point of spooling. will be fine to do straight off the spool

I do a lot of lure angling and I've never soaked my braid for any of my fishing whether that be my heavy pike setups to my perch BFS setups. I never do it on my spodding or marker rods either. The whole point of soaking is to give line as much suppleness as possible which you've already got with braid. As mentioned it doesn't matter what the packet says, it will ALWAYS fade.

Most braid is dyed and most will leach colour on loading and after use, my Preston Reflo colours the rod tip every time I use it. Some claim to be resistant to it, but in my experience they all fade with time to a greater or lesser extent.

Hi guys,
Thoughts about soaking your braid before spooling? - like leaving it submerged in a bucket the night before like we do with mono etc. I ask before the last time I put some new braid on, yellow in colour, it coated the rod eyes and lightly stained my fingers.
I'm using a different brand this time and it's blue, but still. What are we thinking?
